"You're... really good at that," Chris says as she catches her breath. It's dark outside, maybe around 10 pm, and they haven't said much up until now. Their mouths have been pretty busy though, just not talking.
Street rolls onto his side. "I don't think I've ever seen you blush like that before," he says with a teasing smirk. Chris ducks her head away but Street grabs her chin and turns her face so he can meet her gaze. "Don't hide," he says. "It's cute."
Chris curls her body into Street's arms. "So now what?" she asks.
"Well, I suppose we should talk about what we are now," Street says, wrapping his arms around Chris, his hands roaming her skin.
A groan escapes Chris' mouth. "Why do we have to talk about feelings right now?" she asks. "Haven't I done enough of that tonight?"
Street chuckles, kissing along Chris' neck and down to her shoulder. "Chris," he begins. "You know we have to talk about this eventually."
"Do we though?" Chris asks, running her hands through Street's hair. "Can't we just enjoy this?"
Street nuzzles into Chris' shoulder. "We really should talk though," he insists.
Chris whines, burying her face in Street's neck. "Later," she tries to say, but Street's hands find her waist, his fingers tracing over her skin. "Street!" she giggles, squirming in his arms.
"How is it that I've known you for five years and I never knew you were ticklish?" Street teases. Chris doesn't have to see his face to know that he's grinning.
She manages to grab Street's hands, lacing her fingers with his. "Because some things are better kept secret," she says. "And that's one piece of information that I do not need Luca or Tan having." Chris sighs. "Speaking of Luca, I should probably leave. I don't really want him to catch me trying to slip out in the morning."
"Don't go," Street says, wrapping his arms around her waist, holding Chris against his chest. "Please. Stay with me tonight."
"But Luca--"
"We'll wake up early enough for you to leave before he sees you," Street says, trying to reassure Chris. "And even if he does happen to catch you leaving, he won't tell anyone. At least, not while you're still working with us."
Chris is silent for a moment, her head resting against Street's chest, his arms around her torso. "Okay," she finally says. She rolls over to face Street. "Thank you," she says, pressing her forehead against his. "For giving me another chance."
"I knew you would come around eventually," Street says, reaching up with one hand to run his fingers through her hair. "It's going to be weird, not seeing you at work everyday. But I know that you're doing what's right for you."
Chris blinks several times, forcing back tears. "Save the sappy stuff for tomorrow," she says, wrapping her legs around Street's hips. "Now, where were we?" She pulls Street close and kisses him hard, her tongue teasing into his mouth.
Street stops running his hands through Chris' hair, instead wrapping his arms around her waist. Suddenly, in one swift motion, he rolls them both over, forcing Chris onto her back while he straddles her hips.
For a moment, they just keep making out and Chris melts into the feeling of Street's hand running up and down her sides. She's just reached the point of wanting more when Street abruptly pulls back, breaking their kiss. "As much as I'm enjoying this," he says. "We really should talk about this. About what we are."
"Can't it wait until tomorrow?" Chris asks, reaching up to run her fingers through Street's hair.
Street gives Chris a knowing look. "No," he says. "Because tomorrow you're going to slip out of here early so you can go home and change. And then we have work and it's your last day on S.W.A.T. so I know your mind is going to be in a million different places. And I just want to know how you want to do this."
Chris sighs. "I hate it when you make good points," she mutters. "Fine. Personally, I would prefer it if we just kept this between us. At least for tomorrow."
"I can agree to that," Street says. "But can we tell the team after our shift tomorrow? I mean, if anyone deserves to be the first ones to know, it's them."
Chris smiles up at Street. "Sure," she says. "I mean, assuming they haven't figured it out already." She thinks back to her conversations with Luca and Deacon. "Luca already knows that we had something at one point. And I'm pretty sure Deacon has picked up on it too."
"I know," Street says, a soft smile on his face. "But we can keep it quiet for now." He leans down and presses a soft kiss to Chris' lips. "I mean, I waited five years for this. I think I can wait one more day."
"Besides," Chris adds. "Think about how much paperwork we would have to deal with if Hicks found out we were dating while on the same team."
Street chuckles. "Would have been worth it," he says. He lowers himself towards Chris, and begins to kiss along her collarbone softly.
A soft gasp escapes Chris' lips. "I take it you're satisfied with the amount of talking we've done?" she asks, raising a playful eyebrow at Street, who lifts his head just enough to meet Chris' gaze.
"Oh, I'm more than satisfied," Street says. "Now, I do believe I have some unfinished business to attend to."
Chris doesn't say anything in response, just pulls Street into another kiss. A wave of feelings, wants and desires that has been building for the past five years finally crashing down over them, and Chris melts into Street's touch, warm and giddy, and feeling more alive than she has ever felt before.
