So I’m figuring out everyone’s Masquerade outfits, and thus redoing Aedan’s because I don’t like the last one I did, and lemme tell you I’m really thotting them up this time around
OKAY THE TIME HAS COME FOR MORE LEGATUS VALDIS INFO
Relish in my dumb sketches, because I never actually finished a piece with them in it, can I get an F?????
Another courtier, a veiled figure who barely reveals their faces. Arcana Patron is the Moon. A few thousand years old, not sure. Over the veil on their head is a crown, the red beetle symbol in the middle, they never seem to take it off. That crown actually is the remnant of their own sword, turned into an accessory for dramatic purposes only.
When they speak, their voice sounds like voices overlapping over one another, eerily quiet, sends shivers down one’s back. They are a very manipulative individual, able to sway anyone with a few words.
HORSEMAN OF CONQUEST : In the past, they used reap what the others have sown, after War, Death, Pestilence and Famine (not necessarily the Courtiers we know, but I like keeping that Horsemen of Apocalypse metaphor going) have swept across a place, they would slither in to conquer, not necessarily through violence and strength. Sweet whispers in the ear of the desperate do wonder to win them over. They placed puppets at the head of such places, people who have made deals with them in the past and are now bound to servitude. This way, and for centuries, they had control over many countries but that grew boring.
They liked the fun of conquering, but ruling??? Bah, it’s annoying, and mindless destruction doesn’t interest them. They like the game of unraveling governments, manipulating masses to overthrow royalty, slowly manipulating people into serving them. But what comes afterwards? Boring, not fun anymore.
So they slowly make themself scarcer, looking for new way to entertain themself. They find themself fascinated by humans, despite having been one themself a long time ago. How these little, fleeting creatures go about their lives not knowing how insignificant they are. They become an observer to the way human destinies unravel, occasionally intervening to Cause TroubleTM when they deem it too boring. But even that seems not enough, and they grow bored again, and remain that way for centuries.
That is, until one particular human comes in, DEMANDING that they deal with him, as if they owed him anything, and oh, that just might prove interesting!! They enter Vesuvia’s court, and how delightful!! Demon colleagues! (Well not really, the only one they consider remotely their equal is Valdemar but the others… Appear to their (many) eyes like so many unruly children that need to behave dammit)
Speaking of other courtiers, as much fun as it is watching their antics, they find themself having to wrangle them into staying in line, and behave, because it gets frankly embarrassing sometimes. You’re immortal demons, incarnations of power, act like it dammit!!!!
THEIR ROLE AT COURT : Legatus, emissary to other countries. They are hardly present at the palace, always off to someplace to negotiate trading routes or diplomatic advantages for Vesuvia. They’re always successful. Probably the one Courtier that does their job, but only because given the state of Vesuvia, it’s practically useless, and they do so love when people notice how very competent they are at what they do. Admire them, or perish.
Nobody notices when they come or when they leave, but they always leave behind reports of their accomplishments offshore (they never write them themself, who do you think they are???), as well as little trinkets (not really, usually these are absurdly fancy riches but they don’t care for that) on the Countess’s desk, as if they were showing off what they managed to do. They’re a fucking cat. That’s it. Wow.
oh, and here, have this dumb thing :
BITCH THEY REALLY PULLED THE "AND THERE WAS ONLY ONE BED" AKDKAKDKSKD IM SOBBING
