So in preparation for the final episode of The amazing digital circus coming out I have created a few cocktail recipes based on the characters to celebrate. Unlike my tf2 recipes these are not going to be based on what I think the characters themselves whould drink, but rather the drinks will represent the characters, or at least my interpretation of them. Also unlike my TF2 cocktails you probably won't be able to custom order some of these at bars, you can try but you'll probably have to make a few of these at home. Anyway here we go!
*The Jester's juice*
2oz of Grenadine
4oz of UV blue raspberry vodka
1.5oz of Lemon juice
1 bar spoon of fish sauce (optional)
Pour in a shaker with ice or optionally layer them into a chilled glass
Garnish with a candy cigarette (optional)
*Explanation*
This cocktail is meant to represent Pomni.
The grenadine vodka and lemon juice are meant to represent Pomni's colors scheme
Red, Blue, and Yellow. The spirit of choice being vodka is a reference to Pomni's name being the Russian word for remember. The lemon juice is to represent her sometimes sour attitude when it comes to things like people treating her like a child and having to deal with the general bs of the amazing digital circus. The candy cigarette garnish is a nod to her anxiety and how stressed out she was in a pilot. It's also my personal headcanon that before coming to the circus Pomni used to smoke to cope with the stress of her job. The fish sauce is to give the drink and strange twang to it in reference to how she can be a little weird and eccentric at times and also because IT'S THE FISH HAT AGAIN!
*The Purple Rabbit*
Drop ice into a glass
1.5oz of Jack Daniels whiskey
4oz of grape soda
1tps of olive brine
A spritz of absinthe
Garnish with a marshmallow dipped in purple food dye (optional)
*Explanation*
This cocktail is meant to represent Jax.
The grape soda is self explanatory, purple rabbit, purple drink. The olive brine represents his bully personality. Blunt, bitter and dirty, and the absinthe acknowledges that underneath the nihilistic tough guy act there's a more complex and deeper person.
The purple marshmallow is to represent Jax's tail and that while he can never take back all the things he's said and done, he can still change for the better and try to make amends. This drink was originally going to be a variation of a Jack & Coke and It was going to be called a Jax & Coke. But I changed some things so I decided to rename it.
*Raggedy Ragitha*
Pour a handful of candy hearts into a glass (optional)
2oz of Grenadine
8oz of lemon-lime soda
2oz of Black cherry wine
1tbs of Jalapeno syrup
*Explanation*
The alcohol connoisseurs reading this might say "Hey! This is basically just a Shirley Temple." and to that I say......You right.
I chose the Shirley Temple as a base because it just fits the old timey "I come from old wealthy" vibe she has. The Shirley Temple also represents Ragitha's very well since Shirley Temple (the actress this drink was named after) claimed that the drink was too overly sweet to the point that it was disgusting, and that's very much like how Ragitha acts so overly positive and sweet to the point that it became irritating for the others. The candy hearts are a reference to the song "Candy hearts and paper flowers" from the Raggedy Ann and Andy movie that Ragitha is based off of. The jalapeno syrup is to represent how Rags can have a little spice and stand up for herself if she stopped trying to pretend for others and just be herself.
*The Monarch King*
In a shaker with ice
3oz London dry gin
½oz simple syrup
1oz orange bitters to
½oz strawberry syrup
½oz honey syrup
2tps of Skrewball peanut butter whiskey
Shake and strain over fresh ice
*Explanation*
I actually struggled a bit to come up with a drink for kinger. I ultimately decided to lean into his obsession with bugs and make a drink that's very floral and sweet like a nectar. The peanut butter whiskey is to give it a nutty taste in reference that Kinger is crazy when in the light.
*The Manga Maniac*
In a shaker with ice
2oz Drumshanbo gunpowder Irish gin
1oz cinnamon syrup
1oz peach syrup
Shake and pour into a chilled highball glass
Top off with Yuzu sake
*Explanation*
I give Gangle's drink a sweet&sour taste to represent her happy and tragedy comedy masks and her bipolar personality disorder.
The gunpowder irish gin is a call back to the tommygun scene in episode 6.
The sake is a reference to how she wanted to be a manga artist and is a massive weeb.
*The Boozle*
½oz Beet juice
1oz Japanese whiskey
1oz Grenadine
stir and serve with sliced limes (optional)
*Explanation*
I'll be honest, Zoobel was the hardest to come up with a drink for. At first I thought about mixing a bunch of different flavors together (for obvious reasons), but stopped when I realized if I just throw a bunch of different together they'll just mix together into a mute, incoherent mess. So I pivoted to focus more on their personality. That being of a lay back rebel that doesn't care about much. The beet and grenadine mix together to form an earthy sweetness, while the whiskey provides a smooth burn that ties everything together. I specifically chose Japanese whiskey because of their relationship with Gangle. This drink is meant to be done in the form of shots with friends, hence the optional limes.
*Gummi's goo*
In a pot pour 1 cup of water and set to boil
When the water is starts boiling add 1 packet of lime flavored Jell-O
Mix well and take off the heat to cool for 30 minutes
next pour in 4oz orange juice and 4oz Mapel whiskey
Mix well and pour the contents into cup molds and place into the fridge for 4 hours
Garnish with gummy alligators and edible glitter (optional)
*Explanation*
I decided to make Gummigoo's drink a recipe for jello shots. It just feels right. I chose lime Jell-O and orange juice not just because green and orange are his colors, but also because that's what I assume Gummigoo's flavor is. The maple whisky is to reference the fact that in his first appearance he was trying to steal a truck of maple syrup. The gummy gators are pretty obvious, and the glitter... well that's also pretty obvious. :(
*Bubble's Bubbly*
4oz of Dr. Pepper
4oz of London dry gin
2 muddled olives
Top off with Budweiser
*Explanation*
This one is simple. Bubble is weird, so I made the drink also weird. Dr. Pepper and Gin don't sound too strange but then you mash olives in it and pour beer on top? Now that's the kind of chaos Bubble would approve of.
*The Ringmaster*
In a shaker with ice
2oz Grenadine
2½oz of tonic water
1oz blue raspberry syrup
1 bar spoons of honey
3oz of cinnamon syrup
edible glitter (optional)
Shake well and strain into a glass
*Explanation*
And last but certainly not least we have our favorite host! This is the only non-alcoholic drink here and that's because Caine is very much a family friendly orientated person, so I made this a mocktail to reflect that.
The grenadine and blue raspberry are meant to represent how his eyes would sometimes glitch and turn red and blue. The honey is a nod to his obsession with bees and the cinnamon represents his hot temper.
And that's it! I hope you all like these I tried my best. And to @gooseworx if you're reading this, thank you for sticking around and making such a great show. You probably could use one of these drinks, God knows you deserve to have something to take the edge off for having to deal with the memetic hazard that is the toxic side of this fanbase.
Take a breather champ, you more than earned it.
