“This seat taken?”
Ian looks around as if someone else were going to magically appear out of thin air. “Doesn’t look like it.”
“Still pissed huh?” Mickey chuckles, immediately digging into his meatloaf like he hasn’t eaten in ten years.
Ian stares at Mickey’s food tray, which he couldn’t help but notice looked marginally better than his own. Toast, bacon, fluffy eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, and a cup of–
“Is that jello?”
“Yuuup,” Mickey smiles, his mouth popping on the ‘p’ in an annoyingly obnoxious way. “Cherry. Best fuckin’ flavor, man.”
“How come your food is better than mine?” Ian frowns. This wasn’t fair at all.
“Kitchen crew,” Mickey mutters through a mouthful of food. “You’ll have shitty food for the rest of the week. It’s their lame ass way of hazing. Why can’t anyone throw punches anymore and get it out of the fuckin’ way?”
Ian scoffs. “What are we, twelve?”
“Gotta eat it, man.”
“I’m not hungry.”
“No,” Mickey smirks at him. “You gotta clean the plate, or they’ll keep giving you shitty food. Just swallow it. Try not to taste it.” “Ugh,” Ian grimaces, but does as instructed, taking little bits of his food and swallowing them whole without chewing, while Mickey watches on in amusement. “I want some fucking jello.”
“Sucks to be you, then, doesn’t it?”
