Answered here I didn't foresee two different requests asking how Tristan would interact with a universe full of plant and animal-themed villainy along with clown-related evil. But here we are.

🍁 + mikaelsons (& lucien) aside, who else would tristan consider an enemy or bane of his existence throughout the years?

1. Mikael

The patriarch himself. Not technically a Mikaelson right? Mikael does qualify as an enemy. With a small caveat. While Tristan is definitely included on the list of vampires tormented by Mikael, with a century-long hunting game in his history, unlike many of them, Tristan found closure to that torment. He got something out of it. Tristan intervening against Mikael to save the Strix is an act I often interpret as the story of how Tristan got his groove back. Because he had been struggling in more ways than one since he got his memories back. It doesn't mean that Mikael is by any means forgiven or that Tristan knows what that verb means but there is a personal sense of finality, resolution and conquest to that chapter of his eternity following the confrontation. So he is no longer nearly as tormented by Mikael's existence as other vampires in similar circumstances. He is still an enemy because Mikael did the same to Aurora. And that is not nearly as possible to let go to any degree for Tristan.

2. Knights of Templar They are simply a fun group to play with and so remarkably easy to re-imagine under a supernatural context. I basically wanted to make things harder for Tristan and make sure he wasn't automatically the biggest non-Original fish after he takes the Strix under his wing. I wanted an escalation from what the Strix were under Elijah to what they eventually become under Tristan and trials and tribulations occurring as that escalation occurs. A force with a far greater influence upon the world than the, at the time struggling, Strix. Something that could give Tristan a lot of trouble as he re-discovers this leadership thing and elevates the group into its eventual infamous status as the most powerful and influential organization that ever yadda yadda... I have an entire mini-saga in my mind I never posted much about because I don't want to torture my fellow role-players with my ramblings. 3. One half of some of the most powerful European covens. Witches are the quintessential way to provide a powerful enemy to any creature in this universe. With Tristan...It is a coin toss. I fully believe some ancient families of witches adore Tristan to the moon and back and would gladly sacrifice their firstborn to make sure that old legend that helped their family so much back in the day is okay. I fully believe some ancient families of witches despise Tristan so profoundly they would eagerly sacrifice their firstborn to make sure that old grudge against Tristan is finally avenged. As long as you learn the family names, you should be able to easily know where to use Tristan's name to be treated like royalty and where to not use it in order to avoid curses. 4. Abstract concepts. Was the reader under the impression I was not going allow myself to get pretentious with this list? Essentially...I try to portray Tristan as someone who simultaneously owns the world in an indescribable way and somehow still remains in constant war with the world. The mechanisms of the universe when linked to eternity and oblivion. 5. The Catholic Church. This one has been frustratingly long, silent, systematic, never-ending, insidious and mostly combatted from the shadows throughout the centuries. Still, Tristan thinks the progress has been promising so far. Would you like to know what actually happened to the Papal States? Tristan happened.

The prophesized part 2:

🌸 What nickname do they have for each other that would mortify them if others heard? Tristan calls her Rory and I quite intentionally maintain it as an extraordinarily rare phenomenon. Tristan sometimes alludes to history, mythology or the animal kingdom to describe someone, be it to amuse himself or to establish a parallel he deems worthy of note. But he won't play with your name unless there is an unparalleled connection there. The opposite, actually. Remember Freddy? Even when the rest of the world refers to him as such and his talents are highly valued, Tristan will still name him Frederick. Tristan considers both Aya and Shen-Min to be rather close friends in very different ways but neither of them receives a name-focused-nickname and that's not only because their names are on the shorter side and none of the three exactly fits the notion of exchanging one. Instances of levity are inevitable after the better part of a millennium. (To be fair, the Red Sorrow is hard to beat as a monicker) I like to imagine that it is one of those scarce elements that isn't intentional. Tristan's subconscious at some point decided that name-nicknames are only reserved for the highest sort of one in an eternity connections. I don't think Aurora often if ever uses nicknames for him? Which most certainly works for him since he will forever be owed an additional century of Tristans from her as far as he is concerned.

💞 How do they act when one of them is sick? I don't know of any medicus seeing Aurora for a common cold that didn't end up with the impression that the older child of the Count didn't want to throw him off the tallest window the castle could provide for his incompetence at failing to instantly heal her in a blink during their human days. There were occasions when such inclination was expressed out loud. Tristan learned to fear the death of others specifically fearing Aurora's death after the revelation of the darkness looming in a demise courtesy of their mother's parting. And for a while he was not an atrociously normal kid about it. Until he more or less learned to pretend that he was. It is not the entire story, but it plays a part in that strange dichotomy of Tristan sincerely assuring her, during those instances in our threads when Aurora doubts herself, that she can accomplish anything while still feeling the instinct to overprotect her to the moon and back. You are supposed to protect the things you love and such.

🩸 Who would literally kill for the other & who would help hide the body? ...Both of them would kill over a mild annoyance and I suspect both of them would prefer Tristan's people vanishing any trace of the corpse. Unless it is some sort of significant occasion. Elijah. They can share burying Elijah alive after he has been neutralized by one of the cursed stakes. Perhaps also share a pleasant picnic afterwards?

🧩 What tiny habit of the other do they find unbearably adorable? ...All of them? The most predictable one? Smiling. Aurora has this bizarre habit of smiling sometimes. It is unnatural. It drives Tristan to complete, unrelenting madness.

🎪 Who plans elaborate surprise dates & who just wants to stay in? Precisely, yes.

🕰️ If they could go back in time, what moment would they relive together? I find this one a tad tricky to navigate. If Aurora expresses feeling nostalgic for the aesthetics of any particular bygone era, Tristan is likely to simply resurrect it for a night or two during the next Strix gala. But when it comes to their personal history, like you mentioned, the beauty of eternity is in the endless forward. Perhaps...A dance inside their minds on some particular occasion? As in, sharing a dance where they navigate around memories, and the scenes of a myriad of dances they ever shared. I may be able to see that possibility. But nothing related to genuine time travel.

😶 Who’s terrified of saying “meet my parents” & why? We disagree on one! A close one and I can certainly see your perspective, but I will counter with the suggestion of Aurora as the slightly more terrified or at least uncertain part and Tristan as the slightly more paranoically willing to rapid patricide/matricide part to start the reunion.

🍷 Who gets tipsy first & starts spilling embarrassing love confessions? In opposition, I entirely agree with you on this one and I have very little to add.

😘 Who kisses the other first thing in the morning, morning breath & all? Who woke up first?

The Strix did not collect what Aya describes as the only coven in the world capable of performing recurring resurrections, so death stays more than a sad, short chapter. If Aurora dies, she is the one receiving the gift of a ticket back home. Supposing this is an era where Tristan has no access to any version of the Sisters, the earth obtains the privilege of bleeding until it relents her return. Say what you will about Tristan when it comes to ruthlessness or coldness. But he is not by any means a defeatist. Actually... Hmm. This one is rightfully entirely up to you. Once the item reached Aurora's hands all related choices are yours to make. But you know how usually, even with the Sisters or similar powerful witches, they need to channel something as uniquely powerful as a celestial event in order to provide a resurrection? As a premise, I don't instantly despise the idea of Aurora's ring being capable of providing that kind of extraordinary power once if she were to use it as the battery to guarantee a resurection. Granted, I suspect any witch or coven Aurora gives the ring to would find a bone-chilling, gruesome death after they channel that strange energy from it. It is only fair. The terms of the game Tristan agreed to were over the prize of an emerald daylight ring. It isn't mean to be used in any other way. But the result would still be achieved. Mainly, I simply find the idea of Tristan gifting Aurora the fire of ten suns transmuted into the jewelry she wanted to be fundamentally worthy of them.

You wouldn't know them by their real names. Surely it won't surprise you to hear the Strix counts among its member its own pair of tailors. An interesting marriage. Forever inseparable, within and without their shared passion. Either old or young. It depends on your preferred perspective. They have this picturesque quirk. Every so often, they set up shop in some metropolis that suits their interests. They have visited Naples. Paris. Savile Row. For a few years, they live unusually human existences as they evolve their craft. Dietary preferences aside. Once they deem the refinement of their gifts there concluded, they return to us. His talents complementing hers and hers complementing his even more impossibly than before. @noblehcart

🅹🆄🅻🅴🆂 and Cathy forming a secret alliance to encourage me to ramble. Do you think the existence of doppelgänger would have been discovered? What is the world without one or two dozen surprises to be uncovered when least expected? The application of their blood to chain/unchain the curse would be nonexistent since it would never take place, but outside of that, it remains an incomparable key to unlock another hundred impossibles in the right hands, and as such coveted by at least twenty factions or so. The lives of the doppelganger aren't terribly easy in most universes, I am afraid.

In her question, 𝕵𝖚𝖑𝖊𝖘 proposed a scenario where a more current Tristan ends up lost in time somehow, adrift during an era before the creation of the species. But he remains a vampire himself. Even after he becomes an impossible that should have never existed, once Elijah never arrives and as such is never there to sire him. Stable paradoxes and such. That is why I eventually start musing about two Tristans existing at the same time. As for medieval Tristan...Probably sired by Aurora after Tristan sires her? Medieval Tristan would chose her before himself. Something along those lines. did he consider that some people he likes/appreciates perhaps only exist because of the mikaelsons (because removing them would also affect/change the fate/life of other people/generations)? Should he consider this before or after considering all the new, cool and fantastic people that may be a novelty in this second timeline? Haha. The butterfly effect, while obviously still existent, may prove a tad less intense a millennium ago, when the world wasn't nearly as interconnected. People like Aya or the others who initiated the Strix the first time around, Tristan would be pretty sure he can ensure for the second round. At the end of the day, Tristan looks after his people. Those who choose to side with him. Whatever existence or non-existence visits the rest, if the alterations bring euphoric fortune or terrible misfortune to each of them, that is not his concern either way. A leader must look after those who are his. That being said, he would not be universally callous about it. It depends on the case. There are exceptions. If this new reality dismissed someone he truly respected, even if he wasn't one of his, let's say Paganini for example, Tristan would try to honor him by transcribing every musical composition of his and mysteriously, anonymously, making sure the world found those pages under Niccolò's name. So at least a fragment of him can live on.

I am not comprehensively well versed in the universe, I am afraid. My main experience with Batman was a cartoon show back when I was a kid. I only have the occasional movie and pop culture reference outside of that. I apologize for any mistake I could be making here. But from what I understand, as far as places to locate Tristan in are concerned, the Batman mythos literally have an owl-themed secret society reserved for the elite.

The Court of Owls. The name doesn't have quite the same spark as the Strix But there is potential there.

Let me investigate on wikipedia what these people actually do with their time... "The Court is described as an organization of the wealthiest and most influential citizens of the city of Gotham, having existed since the city's founding and completely unknown among its general population outside of an urban legend centered around their reputation for grisly assassinations carried out by indoctrinated agents known as Talons" ...Everything about that screams Tristan. to an almost eerie degree. Yes. I would place him there. There seem to be mixed reports on the leadership of the group, which is a relevant factor given that Tristan isn't good at playing follower. But, in case it is currently occupied, he can always ascend. Thank you for the prompt!

(But that's just a casual nickname for novice Strix members during their first century) Carrier Shen Min when the message involves blood. And for the ones that simply call his attention.
