Saint Hannah - the holy mother of prophet Samuel. An example of patience, humility and bravery.
,,Ana, who did not depart from before God until she was gifted with a child – the prophet Samuel. And Ana, standing before the church, worshiped the Lord and wept from the bitterness of her heart, beginning to pray in secret: Adonai, Lord Sabaoth, if You will look upon the humility of Your handmaiden and remember me and give Your handmaiden offspring, a male child, then I will give him to You as a gift, to serve You all the days of his life. Wine or other strong drink he shall not drink, and a razor shall not come upon his head, as is the case with the Nazirites.
And the Lord looked upon Ana's humility, hearing her prayer, and released her from her barrenness. Thus, Ana conceived in her womb, and when the time was fulfilled, she gave birth to a son, whom she named Samuel, which translates to "asked of God."
