The Central Saloon, founded in 1901 and STILL one of the best music dive bars in Seattle, in the Pioneer Square neighborhood.

First picture, the Central makes an appearance in Alice In Chains’ video ‘Voices’, released in 2013.

Pictures 2, 3, and 4, the neon from the video hangs on the wall slightly higher, over the shrine, 2 & 3 are from 2016, 4 is from 2019 (notice that Chris is there now as well).

Picture 5, a young Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley hang out in front of the Central, probably 1990 or 91.

I know y’all probably don’t care near as much as I do, but I was extremely excited we got to play the historic Central Saloon in Seattle, and even more excited when I saw the level of photos that were taken by @ignitethestage afterwards. I usually shudder at photos of myself playing because they’re almost always only of me while screaming and making weird faces. This photographer actually capture the passion and the emotion of the moment. The last photo is even at the strumming of the last chord of the last song of the set. Pure happiness on my face!

Here’s a lovely shot of Jack Endino & myself, taken by an alert Victoria Music Scene photographer during MKB ULTRA’s performance at the historic Novoselic-curated Central Saloon Stage, part of the very weird Upstream Festival that has squatted, like Baby Huey, upon Seattle’s Pioneer Square.
