KY BOYS’ LIT – Fern Creek 52  Central 44

The Fern Creek Tigers needed overtime to defeat t the Central Yellowjackets 52-44 in the Kentucky Boys’ Louisville Invitational Tournament at Valley High-School in Louisville, Ky.  Leading the way for the Tigers was guard Tony Washington who finished the game with a game high 19 points on 7 of 14 shooting.  For Central it was Davion Thompson with 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead the Yellowjackets in the defeat to Fern Creek.  Fern Creek will advance to play the winner of No. 2 seed Ballard vs. No. 15 seed Waggener on January 15, 2016 at 7pm.  Below is a photo gallery of the game.   Send emails to [email protected] for any photo purchase requests.

Butler Bearettes 69, Central Lady Yellow Jackets 38

Game Summary:

The Butler Bearettes used its pressured defense to coast to a 69-38 victory over the Central Lady Yellowjackets Thursday night in Louisville, KY at Central High-School.  Butler (2-0) played a 2-2-1 press that created turnovers all night which allowed them to run in the open court for easy basket opportunities.  By halftime the Bearettes were up 17 points leading 39-22 going into the locker room.  Butler had a balanced scoring attack, led by Tasia Jefferies with 11 points and the athletic Jaelynn Penn with 10 points. Butler’s Breia Torrens, Teri Goodlett, Janna Lewis, and Allison Just each had 9 points a piece in the victory over Central (0-1).  The YellowJackets played hard the entire game led by silky smooth senior guard Peyton Evans with 10 points.  Central also got 7 each from Precious Hereford and Stephanie Cole.

Central travels to Eastern on Dec. 4th @ 6:00 pm.
