Felt jazzy and whimsical so I whipped up this short loop over the past few hours. Considering doing a full free-flowing jazz cover if this gets enough attention (maybe even if not /ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\ ).
The final day of KH OC Week is here! I can't believe I made so many art pieces in just one week! 🩷 The best part was getting to learn about others' OC's and meeting new Xigbar x OC shippers! I love how many of us there are now! ✨ So many new friends!
To wrap up today's prompt, I did art pieces of Hana and Luxu in Quadratum. This takes place after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3 where Luxu is no longer using Braig as a vessel and freed him. Braig and Hana have gotten rather close over the past year after bonding over their shared trauma of both being hurt by Luxu, but certain events will lead Hana to travel to Quadratum and cross paths with Luxu once again. I'm still working on the details of where to take my story from here 🩷
(although I'm sure Hana is secretly wondering why Luxu looks kinda like the lead singer from the Goo Goo Dolls 😂)
@khoc-week
I also wrote a short drabble based on these artworks! It's of Hana and Luxu bidding eachother farewell before Hana returns to her quiet, peaceful life with Braig in Radiant Garden...
"...It's you, isn't it, Luxu?" Hana took a slow, cautious step towards the hooded figure, her voice soft against the constant raindrops pelting against her umbrella.
At first, the man didn't respond, but then he slowly turned his head to look at her, wearing a face she had seen before. But even without the familiarity of his features, she knew without a doubt that it was him. No matter what vessel he used or whose identity he hijacked, she was confident that her heart would always be able to recognize what her eyes were unable to do.
"Why are you here, Hana?" He scoffed, his voice low and rugged. "You got what you wanted. I gave Braig back his body. Now shouldn't you be running off and living your little happily ever after with that bastard?"
Her hands clutched even tighter around her flimsy umbrella, but she kept her gaze locked on his golden eye that gleamed brightly beneath his hood.
"I came to ask you to come with us back to Radiant Garden," she replied, instantly noticing the way his whole body tensed from her words even though his expression remained neutral. "You can start over, Luxu. Everyone deserves a second chance. Despite everything that happened, we can..."
His dark laughter intercepted her speech, shaking his head beneath his roan-soaked hood. "You're joking, right? Come on, *Pipsqueak*, let's be honest for a second here..."
He turned to face her fully, taking only a single step in her direction as he relaxed his posture by shoving his hands inside his pockets. "As if. I wasn't just the villain in your story, Hana. I was the villain in everyone's story. Don't you get it? Guys like me don't get redemption arcs. We don't get welcomed back into society with open arms. We don't get happy endings...And we sure as hell don't get the girl in the end."
Hana didn't so much at flinch at his words, almost as if she had been expecting them from the start, but her eyes drifted towards the ground where the rain was beginning to form a puddle around her boots.
"Since we're being honest here, Luxu...I was never the girl you actually wanted to be with, right?" She muttered quietly. "It was Hanamari."
Luxu stared at her silently for a moment, debating on what to say. He had a feeling that all her memories would come back eventually, even if they all didn't technically belong to her. "So you finally remembered it all, huh?" He asked dryly.
"When Hanamari fell in the Keyblade War, she didn't just lose her heart like everyone else. Her heart was shattered." Hana said, slowly bringing her lavender eyes up to meet his. "And me? I was just the tiny fragment of her that was left behind. And when I became the Nobody known as Xana, I eventually regrew a heart of my own...So even if I still have that tiny little shard of hers within me, I'll never be her. I'll never be your Hanamari."
Luxu simply shrugged, keeping up an air of casual indifference. "As if. You think I didn't figure that out a long time ago, Pipsqueak? With your sassy attitude and knack for being a real thorn in my side, deep down I always knew you weren't her."
But it didn't make me want you any less, he thought bitterly to himself, choosing to keep those words to himself. Some things really were better left unsaid.
"You should get back to Braig before he sends a search party after you." He said, turning on his heels so his back was facing her once more. "Quit worrying about me and go get your fairy tale ending or whatever."
Luxu was dismissive as always, but Hana still had so many questions that were unanswered, so many things she wanted to know about him and the girl who lived centuries ago in Daybreak Town whose heart fragment she still carried within her own. But she knew that he probably wouldn't tell her everything, anyways. That was just the kind of man he always was, and always will be.
"What about you?" She found herself asking anyways, hands tightening around the handle of her umbrella as the rain started to fall just a bit harder. "Where will you go from here? Are you going to keep hopping from body to body? Stealing lives and personas like it's a hobby?"
"Heh. Wouldn't you like to know?" He let out a small huff of laughter, but there was no humor in his voice. "Maybe if you're really lucky, we'll end up crossing paths again and you'll finally be able to use that Keyblade of yours to cut me out of this plane of existence."
"Luxu..."
She stared back at him, blinking away the tears that threatened to spill out. It didn't have to be this way. Why couldn't he see that?
"Until that day comes, I've got shit to do and schemes to plot, per the Master's orders...I guess I'll see 'ya in my next lifetime, Pipsqueak."
The Corridor of Darkness opened up around him, and just before the dark vortex swallowed him up, he cast one last look at the girl he knew he'd never stop thinking about for the remainder of his long, immortal life. For a moment, he thought he saw tears sliding down her rosy cheeks, but he figured it was probably just from the rain. After everything he did, he knew he wasn't worth any more of her tears.
This was an idea I've had cooking in my head for a bit, so I'm glad I got to finally turn my silly little vision into reality! Xigbar as a pirate, though 🥵 He really shivers me timbers dressed like that!
One day left of KH OC Week~! 🩷 I better hop to it then!
