jinx is a person who is not only going through adolescence, but is constantly focused on her own identity. this line is so good, powder doesn’t want to loose being powder by pursuing her ambitious dreams. all jinx IS is ambitious dreams (cough cough silcos dreams cough cough) powder avoids inventing to not become like jinx, and jinx avoids emotion to not become like powder. complete opposites and yet the exact same person with the exact same fears, all she wants is to be somebody she recognizes.

thinking about just how artistic jinx is!!!!!!! she is extremely expressive and carries out her feelings so visually and we see this so constantly. in her style, in her drawings, and most importantly in the way she characterizes the people in her life and “jinx” vs “powder”. it makes SO MUCH SENSE in the alternate timeline that powder would be a painter alongside an inventor, SHE IS AN ARTIST!!!!!!

jinx has always been an artist but her creative outlets just lead her to put her spin on things. it makes it more clear that her style of violence is less kooky/crazy and more a desperate attempt to have an identity and express herself. her soul is bleeding through every crack and her characterization as powder is SO IMPORTANT in understanding her in the primary timeline. she is a tortured painter and inventor just trying to cope through her own lense of the world UGH
