its the poetry class pal you mentioned before, who worked really hard on this one artsy fartsy piece, and you just gotta swallow it whole and smile or there will be actual tears to count

Lmao your tag! But really simplicity and abstract concepts are not a bad thing in lyric writing. When I recently found out they released 2 albums I sent noticed and listened 2 them that struck me as a weak point! Trying to hard to sound smart and just sounding…the absolute worst was “love’s the devil counting teardrops in the rain” I had to pause. that’s so. Omg. I couldn’t deal I laughed so much it’s like a parody of their lyrics/poetry by ur 13 yr old goth cousin

I still love that album tbh it’s so over the top with the whole 666 theme but so emotional and his voice was really good. idk sometimes simpler lyrics with them actually come across as less cheesy? diabolikal rapture/for you/when love & death embrace are just genuinely good songs beyond the nostalgia factor I think

same though??? really like the sound of it all still, and like you said, besides nostalgia its actually some neat tunes in there
