Thoughts on ... putting milk in the bowl before putting cereal in? I have a friend who believes this is the correct way and I don't know how to tell them it's not.

why would they think that's the correct way who hurt them???? that can actually lead to miscalculations and then you end up with a bowl with too much milk and too litle (and soggy) cereal and now your perfectly good and simple meal is ruined

What about cereal and water? Or cereal and chocolate milk? (I had decided to stay quiet during the cereal discourse, but it didn't last long.)

i dont see any issue with cereal and chocolate milk but i will delete any ask regarding cereal and water on the spot

cereal before milk! always!! this is indisputable there is no argument here if you put the milk in first the cereal splashes when you pour it and makes a mess so you always, always do cereal first no questions asked

That is why you put just enough milk to coat it, not drown it. Prime cereal time is 5 seconds after pouring the milk, no more, no less. It is important to pour just the right amount, too. So yes, pour milk in your bowl first before the cereal.

Otherwise, you get Froot Loops disintegrating into mushy, oversaturated soggy bread the moment you try to eat it.
