Chicago's Nine Dragon Wall at 170 West Cermak Road and South Wentworth Avenue was built in 2003-04 and funded by the Chinatown Chamber of Commerce. Made of glazed tile from, China, it is a miniature replica of the Nine Dragon Wall in Beihei Park in Beijing, built in 1402, one of several constructed during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Chicago's dragon wall is one of 3 located outside of China. The dragon and the number 9 are strongly tied together in Chinese culture. Of course, for thousands of years, the dragon has been a symbol of everything that is sacred and spiritual, while 9 represents good fortune. 🐉 #Chicago #ChinatownChicago #SouthSideChicago #ChineseArchitecture #ChiArchitecture #Chitecture #ChineseCulture #CermakRoad #WentworthAvenue #archi_ologie #ChicagoHome #VisitChiTown #EnjoyIllinois #ThisPlaceMatters (at Nine Dragon Wall) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_K3faADAne/?igshid=st27yx052n3c
