Excited for the Cuphead show coming out, though what happens with my slice of fanon will still stay secluded to its own continuity. Time to go to work now!

Parentage

I don’t see a whole lot of fanart of the Cup Brothers’ parents, so I decided to fix that. And I fupping love seeing people’s interpretations of what Cuphead and Mugman’s parents look like because they’re all so unique and they all look quite plausible in being the ones who birthed our sippy bois. I guess this was also an excuse to make some art for Inkwell Convergence, a project that I plan on being my last hurrah for my time in the fandom and at this point is on the furthest back burner, and indulge in some of my favorite interpretations. At this point, I do know that these three continuities in question definitely are involved, and I’ll probably do a rambling about that later about how that works exactly, but for now I’m pretty satisfied with how this turned out.

I also considered drawing Cuphead and Mugman in their respective God Tier outfits (Prince of Light and Page of Heart, respectively), but I figured in interest of the piece I would just have those titles referenced in the shots charging (the colors of both aspects, with the Light and Heart symbols being part of the particle effects.

Claire still dresses in all black whenever the anniversary of her brother in law and sister’s death, November 2nd, rolls around, and while the pain of losing them is continuing to dull, the scar is still very much there. I keep saying I’ll get to those entries of Origins, but right now school and work have other plans for me and I have two other projects to get out of the way (and once the semester is over RPs are going to be at the top of the priority list because HNNNNNNGH I’ve left y’all hanging way too frikkin’ long). If you thought the news of two of the people she held dear being found dead in the woods of Inkwell Isle One was bad, imagine how much worse it gets when she found out her parents were responsible for it, add in the fact that she couldn’t help them in their attempt to flee to the Inkwell Highlands, and had no knowledge of what was going on due to very limited communication (not that either woman had a choice since Lynn Manor would pounce on any opportunity to monitor their letters and track both of them down; and Porcia communicating with Alston was already risky considering he was still surviving in the manor). If she learned about Cuphead and Mugman’s existence and, like Alston, also assumed that they were lost as a result of the ambush, it would have been likely that she would’ve killed herself not long after Alston was taken out. The finer details will be addressed later, but for now, take this.

And of course, this will make her more of a target for Percy and Edith to try and make another attempt on her life. Roz and Ludo will be around her nonstop for her protection. Lucius might, too, despite going into the task with very limited knowledge about what happened.

Cerrel: So a while back aye offered to go find out what happened to the lassie runnin' this ship and make sure she didn't get carried off to the spirit realm or summat. Well, aye found 'er and that bug keeper she fawns o'er and... Can someone explain why she's sleepin' in a pile o' bricks and candy? Aye know this job been drainin' her soul and she's been holding onto that boy fer sanity, and it looks like she's been trying to draw... but the bricks and candy... where... what's with the bricks and candy pile she's sleeping in? Is this a DLC level aye don't know about that me boys are gonna face? Someone please explain because aye don't get it, and aye don't think the crew would get it either. Well, maybe that shady English chum might, who knows.

Day 6: Relax on the Beach at night

AT LONG FUCKING LAST IT IS COMPLETE.

It’s time to head home and this does take place canonically between Elder Kettle’s warning (the next installment following “Be Afraid, Boys; Be Very Afraid”) and the actual kidnapping in this continuity. Claire opens up to Lucius about her siblings and that she’s still heartbroken over what happened.

A doodle set from a while ago. Hey, I wanted to draw Cerrel and baby Mugman wanting to try his hat on, what do you want from me?

Another doodle I felt like coloring? UTTER MADNESS! The idea was that Elder Kettle took Cerrel under his wing at some point after learning the boy was on his own after Nana Amic died. And after hearing Elder Kettle's tales of his days as a knight of Inkwell, Cerrel wanted to grow up to become one as well. And, yes, "Do It For Her" from Steven Universe was stuck in my head the entire time and I want to do a similar sequence like it. I just don't know if I should limit it to the first year of Cerrel's training or show him growing up into a young man over the course of it. Whatever, have fun with this. At least I calmed down now...
