Throwback ~ to last month when this removal really tested our skills. In all, it took about 4 days. Honey was dripping all over us🍯the girls didn't take to the NUCs at first, and so we brought in the vacuum. It was so much fun and the setting pure bliss🌺 The hive must have been 2+ years old, see how dark the comb is?! These girls filled up 10 frames of mostly honey and pollen, there was a lot more comb but no brood or queen meaning they must have swarmed recently, but there were still loads of bees! We used two vacuum boxes and a NUC.
