From what I’ve learned, leash pulling almost always traces back to missing basics in obedience training. Once I stopped seeing it as misbehavior and started addressing it as a lack of clear instruction, everything began to improve. Focusing again on commands like sit, heel, and focus gave my dog much-needed clarity on walks.

Consistency with rewards and affection was key for us. I introduced treats early on to reinforce good leash behavior and help my dog understand what was expected. As progress became more consistent, I gradually replaced treats with praise and calm encouragement.

I also became more aware of how my attitude affected training. Using calm, assertive energy something Cesar Millan strongly emphasizes helped my dog stay more attentive and cooperative. When I stayed relaxed, my dog followed my lead more easily.
