As an orchestra plays the flourishing opening to #Wagner’s ‘Die Walküre,’ ANNA finds her seat in a crowded opera hall and reflects on whether she has just met her dead husband, reincarnated, or just a kid playing a cruel trick. Director Jonathan Glazer, and cinematographer Harris Savides, made the choice to hold on her face in an incredible performance from Nicole Kidman, while the rest of the audience is awash in music. With just sound and picture, the single-shot is a stunning piece of pure cinema that displays ANNA’S internal struggle without uttering a single word. ‘Birth’ is a great film and resulted in one of our only “Portraits” in the series. — 🖼: ’It’s Me, Sean’ 🎬: Birth 🎥: Glazer, 2004 📷: @stillhazart — edition of 13, plexi-mounted c-print, available in 4 sizes, 🔗 in bio. — #CinematicExposure #CESC1 #LongExposure #Photography #FineArt #FineArtPhotography #Film #FilmPhotography #Movies #Cinema #Cinephile #Birth #JonathanGlazer #DannyHouston #LaurenBacall #CameronBright #Portrait #PortraitPhotography #NicoleKidman (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/BucYSogB-pz/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1v2vh942kkqhj
