The Mahones & Dropkick Murphy's September 15 2013
Not to let something as mundane as responsibility and not staying out to late on a school night get in the way of a good time my buddy Wayne and I went out to see the Mahones and Dropkick Murphy’s.
We met at Indie Ale House as I was just finishing up the Toronto Beer Week Cask event there and headed down to C’est What for a dinner. Where we had found that they were offering the remaing beer from the weekends craft beer festival so we had an even bigger tap list than the usual expansive beer offerings at C’est What.
After dinner we headed down to the Docks for the show. Oh, I guess I mean the “Sound Academy” except that is generic and dull name and for a lot of people its just going to be the Docks. Like Rogers centre is the Skydome and will always be the Skydome.
We got into the Show mid way through the Mahones set. It was good rowdy fun and the Mahones quickly became on of my favourite bands weeks later I’d say I love the far more than the Dropkicks.
Not to say the Dropkick Murpheys aren’t great fun themselves. The crowd exploded when they hit the stage. They played a great show.
To the girl who grabbed us and danced while yelling “I’m here with my parents!” You were hilarious and that was awesome.
