every   day   that   passed   with   the   king's   new   behaviours   was   another   day   that   left   the   summer   general   terrified   that   they   were   going   to   have   to   fight.   as   his   sister   in   law   had   already   stated   it   would   be   a   last   ditch   effort,   but   it   was   a   fear   that   rested   in   the   back   of   his   mind.   sure   that   some   of   the   other   members   of   the   inner   circle   were   more   than   likely   on   the   stance   of   fighting,   but   he   wanted   to   check   in   and   see   where   they   stood.   if   they   had   any   insight   on   connections,   or   connections   that   could   help   the   summer   court.   "what   are   the   chances   you   know   of   any   confirmed   alliances   between   the   other   courts?   especially   that   of   the   dusk   court."

╰   ♡   optimism   was   not   something   that   was   associated   with   the   summer   court.   it   was   more   than   common   for   each   of   them   to   remain   cautious   even   after   the   king   and   the   dark   mother   had   both   been   taken   care   of.   that   was   the   case   for   the   general.   there   wasn't   room   to   pretend   as   though   everything   in   the   world   had   been   righted   with   taking   down   the   king.   the   barrier   remained   and   the   magic   still   unstable   was   proof   enough   that   they   were   not   out   of   the   clear.
