Hi! Its me again! Sorry to bother you but you are one of the great artists i know! Can i ask you something? "How do you draw the body and clothes (._.;;)" Sorry to bother you and hope you don't mind! Merry Christmas BTW!!

lol for real tho–I think anatomy and clothing are areas I’m rather weak in, so the best I can do is give you some links I think are really good and maybe talk a little bit about how I think when I draw? If that’s ok, here we go!

ANATOMY

check out grizandnorm and studioblinktwice, both of which make really good, brief tutorials for anatomy and basically everything else. among these, I think the “drawing through” tip is super helpful. a lot of anatomy goofs happen when you draw body parts as if they were only two dimensional, so sketching lines that indicate the width and depth helps a lot imo!  I like drawing lines around the width and down imaginary front/back “seams” to imply directionality

other than that, there’s really no other way to get good at drawing bodies other than observation and practice… which means… use references or do practice figure studies!! if you feel like it’s hard to do figure studies, do tracing exercises over photos first for your studies. it’ll help you get a feel for how body parts connect and move.

CLOTHING

if you’re asking me how to draw clothes in the practical sense, e.g., folds and what not, I have absolutely no useful advice bc I tend to avoid drawing realistic clothing like the plague ;;; again, your best friend is using references and doing practice studies! here’s a whole tag filled with great references

I more or less omit folds or wrinkles on clothing I draw because as a whole, I tend to draw in a stylized way and focus more on giving a feeling rather than accurately representing gravity (or anything else). e.g., none of the things I drew below are realistically depicted, but I wanted the article of clothing to convey a quality:

if you’re asking how I draw clothing in terms of designing all the ridiculous AU outfits I dreamed up: it’s purely rule of cool. 

KINDA BAD ART ADVICE, PROBABLY?: like I said, I draw in a really stylized way, and frankly–I hate doing studies and I think it’s boring. But it’s also true that you can’t cover up a lack of foundational drawing knowledge just by glossing over your weaknesses with stylizing elements. Doing your “art homework” is more or less non-negotiable if you want to increase your technical skill level, but if you feel overwhelmed or frustrated, it’s ok to give yourself breaks and/or work on your art skills at your own pace!  

I mention this mostly just because I think reading “you’re only gonna be good at drawing if you do x, y, z,” when x, y, z, are not necessarily activities everyone enjoys can be really demotivating. (then again, if you’re planning to go pro as an artist I think different standards apply–but if you’re drawing for fun then I think you should draw and practice drawing in a way that’s fulfilling for you, because otherwise what’s the point??)

Just asking...what art app do you use? Do u have any tips on art????

I use Clip Studio Paint

Uhm as for tips, hmmmm

Mess around with the Hue/Saturation/Luminosity until you get a color palette you’re satisfied with, it’s an easy way to figure out what colors you want

Use refs!!! You’ll be glad that you did!! (I feel blessed that I have all the Sousei tankoubon on hand for this)

If you want to color a traditionally drawn picture on a digital program, create a folder for your colors and set that folder in Multiply mode - this is how I color my pics, you don’t have to do this if you don’t want your lines to show

Don’t just leave your lineart black, it makes everything look flat.

During winter, Sayo would try setting up a mistletoe trap at their house WHENEVER Mayura would come visit.

So when Shimon and Mayura would open the doors, Keiji would brought out a camera and we all know what would happened next.

If Shimon and Mayura disagrees about the “yknow” Sayo would just push Mayura towards Shimon.

No keep going! This is cute! So it took me so long I have finals and papers to write!

Mind if I add to this?

Afterwards Shimon profusely apologizes for his sibling’s antics, and Mayura’s like “it’s fine.” while like blushing before Shimon asks Mayura out on a lunch date to make it up to her for the awkward situation. She agrees before hugging him goodbye and leaving.

This leaves him with a mix of feelings like happiness and nervousness, relief, and excitement and when he goes back inside Keiji gives him like a grin and Sayo asks for details. There wasn’t a point in keeping it for them, so Shimon told them what happened and they both offered- or rather demanded to help to which Shimon resigns and agrees on the condition they won’t spy on them.

I’m pretty that those photos that Keiji takes is going into like a collage of photos for their wedding or photo album.
