Love Revo 2015
I remember during our YFC Campus Based Camp in Tabor Hills, someone asked me, “Pila naka ka years sa YFC?”. There was a moment of silence as I look back and count my years in serving God as a Youth For Christ. I’ve been a YFC for almost 4 years already, 4 years filled with fun, friendship, faith and freedom.
Moreover, last April 10-12, 2015 was the International Conference (ICon) in Surigao City. Sadly, I wasn’t able to join last year’s ICon Palawan. But nevertheless, this year’s ICon was different for me. I had the chance to get to know more and spend quality time with my YFC Cebu Campus Based Family, as well as my One Surigao Family.
During the first day, while the sun was as hot as me (hahaha), we went to see YFC Cebu and we also lined up to buy shirts, Ablaze will always have the best statement shirts!! And the first night was a blast, power masyado!
Then on the second day, it was for the different workshops for the youth, the singles and the couples. My workshop was the Revolution of the Heart, at first I was worrying because I was the only one from Surigao that was attending the said workshop but then I realized that it’s okay, maybe this is God’s way for me to become closer to my Campus Based Family. As we arrived in the venue, I saw Ate Glendz, Ate Annalou, Eduard and Miles who also came from Surigao Sur and they were facilitating the workshop. It feels like home! And then at night time was the sessions. I dared myself that during this ICon, I must listen well for I know I will learn a lot from the speakers and Cardinal Tagle also gave his message for us.
Lastly, the third day, there was a Holy Mass and the last session. It was really hot and it also rained. The weather was bipolar but it didn’t stop us from worshipping our Lord. And announcing the next year’s ICon featuring Cardinal Tagle in.... I can go to ICON BOHOL!
I was part of the docu team during the Regional Youth Conference in Cagayan de Oro City, and one of the team, Kuya Ralph invited me to join the docu team for ICon Surigao, although it’s one of the things I love to do but something pushes me not to join, something pushes me to experience ICon Surigao as a participant not as a part of the service team but I’d love to be one of the service team, soon!
They always say to seize the day but sometimes there’s a point in our lives that the moment seizes us.
Thank you, Lord! I love you.
