Well, I was so bewitched by Punk that I completely forgot to liveblog the CFFC 116 prelims. As you probably heard, he said “You can’t trust anyone from Long Island” on commentary and the CMJF fandom exploded. He also giggled a lot afterwards.

Hector Iglesias who came in 0:1 and won did so well that Punk decided to give him a post match interview even though they don’t do that in prelims and what can I say, it was very well received.

"CM Punk, it's cool to see you, not gonna lie," he says.

Yeah... yeah.

Another heartwarming moment when Tom Picciano comes to the commentary side of the cage to tell Punk, “When I was nine years old I was watching you wrestle.” Punk’s clearly touched.

Further developments, he’s looking fine:

And he’s clearly having a blast. I’m very happy for him and I hardly miss seeing him in the ring, I say, clenching my fists so hard I draw blood.

Now off to the CFFC 116 main event! Punk is usually trying to be less clownish for the main event, keeping “that’s what my wife says” and “I think I peed myself” jokes to a minimum but let’s see where the night takes us.
