Who worries about how they will look when they’re older
Worrying about something? Isabelle, 100%. Derek also knows that he has somewhat reduced aging because of the whole supernatural thing, and he knows he isn’t exactly the shallow end of the gene pool. Isabelle, on the other hand, cannot help comparing herself to her sister, who she thinks is infinitely more gorgeous. She can’t imagine what it’s going to be like in a few years if this is supposed to be her prime.
Who makes the mix tapes/cd’s
Isabelle, usually. She likes the organization of the mixes, trying to understand the best rhythm to put the music into. Also, music is one of the only things she really allowed herself to be into in high school and college, since she could listen to things and complete assignments at the same time. She has a vast library of music, and it’s something that Derek never really expected from her.
Clings to the other during scary movies
Isabelle, absolutely. Derek is a rock during the movie, and Isabelle usually ends up in his lap or hiding against his chest. She’s usually scared after the movie too. But the one thing Derek won’t admit is that he gets a little freaked out after scary movies too. It results in excessive touching of Isabelle. She thinks he’s trying to reassure her, but it’s just as much him trying to reassure himself.
Gets into the shower with the other randomly
Derek. He thinks it’s hilarious the first time he does it when she almost falls straight out of the shower. The shock wears off as time goes on, but he’s still the one who does it more often.
Flashes the other when they walk by after taking a shower alone
Also Derek, but not in a “surprise this is sexual” way. He’s just sort of used to being alone, so he’ll walk from the bathroom to the bedroom towelling his hair instead of wearing it around his waist. Isabelle will promptly squeal and avert her eyes, even though they’ve been dating for several months.
Initiates hand holding while the other is driving
Also also Derek. Isabelle is a very focused, stressed driver, and she tends to stay stressed and focused on the road. When she’s driving, Derek often grabs her hand just to remind her to breath. When he’s driving, it’s just to remind her that she’s there and not alone.
Secretly tries to touch the other in naughty places during public/family events
It’s usually Isabelle who starts it, because who would believe that Isabelle is the tease? Derek could tell anyone he liked and no one would believe him. But he catches on pretty quickly whenever she starts, and it turns into something of a game. Derek usually loses, because he’s a tad more sensitive and gets riled up more quickly, but Isabelle is always the one who decides when they’re playing.
Asks weird questions in the middle of the night
Isabelle, absolutely. Derek tries to humor her while hiding his smile half the time. The other half he rolls her over and gives her his stern Alpha look until she understands that bedtime means quiet time.
Asks “what are you thinking about?”
Hm, this is a tough one. Probably Derek. Both of them are very guarded, and they respect each other’s privacy, but the way Derek was raised allows him to know that it’s okay to ask, and he will probably get an answer. Isabelle never asks because it doesn’t occur to her the other person might want her to.
Always has to be touching the other, (if either of them do)
Derek is definitely they touchier of the two of them. Part of it is because Isabelle is so afraid that she’ll end up being awkward and making things uncomfortable, and part of it is because subconsciously, she never really lets herself believe that he’s there. If she tries to touch him, she might find out that he’s not, and then the illusion is broken. She’d rather live in a fantasy with him. Derek is the opposite, who is constantly touching her and listening to her breathing and breathing in the scent of her shampoo to remind himself that for once, this is something good that is real, and he gets to keep it.
