Calling all Cardfight Vanguard G Fans!
I wanted to make a tumblr poll tournament for the community's favorite cardfights from the G era. I don't think anyone else has done it so I thought why not just bite the bullet and do it.
So how will this work exactly? I'm glad you asked.
For now, this blog will simply be taking nominations for fights that people think should be included in the tournament. I'm currently planning on the actual tournament phase to have 16 fights as part of the bracket, but I might increase it to 32 total fights if I get enough submissions (which I lowkey doubt will happen but who knows).
I don't really have a specific date for when I want the nomination period to end, but I'll try and give a 2 week warning when I do decide it's time to move on to the actual tournament section.
Rules for nominations:
Each person may nominate up to 3 separate card fights in their submission (if you can only think of one or two, that's fine).
The nominations need to be from cfv g, cfv girs crisis, cfv stride gate, cfv NEXT, or cvf gz.
The nominations need to include the episode the fight is from (mainly because there are characters that fight against each other multiple times throughout the series), the season the fight is from, and the characters involved.
For example a nomination could look like this
Ibuki vs Chrono from cfv g episode 3
Tokoha vs Rin from cfv Next episode 23
Tokoha vs Misaki from cfv girs crisis episode 23
The nominations don't need to follow that exact format but that's probably the simplest way to do it while including all the necessary information
Nominations can't be made anonymously because I wanted to minimize the possibility of a single person making more nominations than the 3 I'm allowing through anonymous submissions. But don't worry, I won't make what fights people nominate public. When someone sends in an ask including their nominations, I will note them down in a spreadsheet I'll be making to keep track of how many nominations each fight gets.
By the end of the nomination period the 16 (or 32 if there's enough nominations) card fights with the highest number of nominations will enter the standard tournament phase where they'll go up against each other in a standard tournament bracket through tumblr polls where people will get to vote for which they think is best by their own standards.
Most important bit: What people think is "best" is highly subjective and I do not have any interest in trying to come up with some metric to make these judgements on. Anyone participating can feel free to decide what they think is "best" however they want to, and nominate whatever fights they feel like. If the reason you think it's "the best" is due to it being between your favorite characters, that's great! If it's because the fight marks major character growth for someone, great! If you just think it was a really cool fight, great! If you think it's the best due to role it plays in the overall plot, great! If you think it's the best for purely personal reasons, great! Hell, if you think it's best entirely for comedic reasons, that's great too! Everyone is free to decide "best" whatever metric they think best fits.
Exception
Episodes 11 and 12 from gz are weird because that episode is technically one singular fight split across two episodes where one of the fighters is swapped out mid fight. (Fight starts as Gastille vs Ibuki but transitions into Gastille vs Chrono due to plot reasons) . However, it is still ultimately one cardfight even if the cardfighters themselves change midway through. I have decided to count this as a singular fight because it felt weird to treat them as separate fights. So submissions for "Gastille vs Ibuki in GZ episode 11" and "Gastille vs Chrono in GZ episode 12" will go to a singular fight.

I do not know if any other fights have weird situations like this, but if anyone can think of one, please tell me so I can add it to the exception list.
