What does puppy Simon's blanket fort look like? Is it more like a den? Amd how does cg! Dark, cg! Wilford and cg! Heehoo react if he shows he wants to nap with them in his blanket fort?
A Safe Place For Puppy
Simon was always a very anxious man, no matter how it was spun. He flinched at even the slightest noise, and had on occasion even run away when he thought he heard something that resembled an angry voice. His skittish nature was only exaggerated by his regression; while big Simon could at least grin and bear it a little bit, puppy Simon would whimper and cry at the drop of a hat.
And this had Wilford and Dark at their wit’s end.
They’d tried just about everything they could think of to make Simon feel a bit safer when he’s regressed; the kennel made him panic, the dog bed felt dehumanizing, and being around the others was incredibly overstimulating. The poor pup was just too anxious, always crying and pawing at one of the two men’s sides, desperate to prove that he was good, that he could stay with them. It broke both Wilford and Dark’s hearts, if they were completely honest. The one thing that seemed to help Simon regulate, however, was his blankie.
Blankie was a gift from Dave on one of the first nights Simon spent with his fellow egos: a soft blue minky with white stars, blankie was just the right texture to help soothe Simon’s anxious pup heart. Blankie went everywhere with Simon when he was small, whether it be tucked into his arms, wrapped around his shoulders or safely secured in his mouth.
So when the manor is packed full of egos and blankie is nowhere to be found, Simon is panicking and running to his room, quickly regressing smaller and smaller until the poor thing is curled up on the floor near his bed, desperately crying for his blankie, or even for his mama or papa.
By the time Simon thought he had no more tears left to cry, he heard a scratch on his door, followed by the sound of something approaching. Simon’s breath hitched as he crawled under his bed, holding his breath and desperately trying to make sure whatever was coming in didn’t find him.
The tension in his body was eased momentarily when the form sneaking into his room was only Heehoo. Simon liked Heehoo, and his more animalistic nature made Simon feel more like he was free to be his quiet, nervous puppy self.
Heehoo gently pawed at Simon’s form under the bed, urging Simon to come out. Simon whimpered, but obliged, crawling out from under his bed and into Heehoo’s lap. Heehoo hummed, tucking Simon’s head into his shoulder, and the action seemed to work as Simon’s body relaxed against Heehoo’s. Simon yipped sadly and whined, pawing at Heehoo, as if to hold him closer to his body.
Once Simon finally relaxed, Heehoo went to work building a nest out of Simon’s blankets and pillows, though there was still no sign of blankie. Simon even managed to clumsily string a few lights above the corner next to his bed, as well as draping a sheet over the entire corner to form a sort of tent. Heehoo grunted and guided Simon into the tent, and Simon sighed as Heehoo curled around him. He was warm, comforting, and Simon found himself drifting off to sleep in Heehoo’s grasp, despite the lack of his blankie.
Wilford felt the color drain from his face as he cleaned up from the ego’s party and he discovered blankie hidden underneath a few pillows and blankets on the couch. He knew Simon was overwhelmed, but had no way to check on him as he hosted the party. He ran to find Dark, blankie in tow, and Dark looked up to see the panicked look in Wilford’s eyes.
“Simon doesn’t have his blankie.” Wilford stated matter-of-factly.
The two men held eye contract before quickly heading towards Simon’s room, only to discover him safely asleep in Heehoo’s embrace. His chest rose and fell, and Heehoo watched Dark and Wilford skeptically. Both men fought the urge to coo at the sight.
“It’s alright, Heehoo,” Darkiplier assured, “we’re just bringing the pup his blanket, that’s all.”
Simon stirred at hearing the voices of his mama and papa, whimpering and barking quietly until his sleepy eyes found Wilford and Dark’s faces. His eyes welled with tears or relief, and he actively began to cry when Wilford draped his blankie over his shoulders.
“you’re alright, dear puppy, just rest.” Wilford assured quietly.
The two men sat outside the entrance to the tent, making a mental note to buy Simon a large tent and a few more cushions, especially if it meant they got to see Simon relax just like this.
