April Showers Call for Clumsy Kiddos
“Rain boots?”
“Check!”
“Rain hat?”
“Mhm check!”.
“Rain coat?”
“Yes yes, check! Now can I gooo?”
“Well first let’s go over some rules so you stay safe and sound while playi…” Once again, you’re dashing out the door before I can finish talking, such an impatient little thing. I quickly pull on my rain gear to join you outside. Luckily it only took me a minute, because as soon as I make my way over to the large puddle you’re playing in, your rain boot gets suctioned in the mud and you lose your balance when trying to pull it up to jump again. I manage to steady you just in time to prevent a boo-boo. Looking down at you, I soften my face and lightly pinch the tip of your nose between my index and middle finger. You pout, “Maybe I should have listened to the safety rules…”. “My poor kiddo, you’re just a little bit clumsy”. For the rest of your playtime I make sure to hold your hand while you jump your little heart out.
