↳ THE EMPEROR’S WRATH
💬 Jennifer to Devin
@hxtties
“ a good snack.
however he’s been alive for so long now. something he has makes me a bit hesitant to kill him. it will come eventually. he’s just another boy to eat . “
CHARACTER INSPO: DEVIN KA’UHANE
i say i wanna wake up with the dawn but every night i sleep with the shades drawn i keep telling my shrink, "i wanna feel okay" but I get off on all my bummer days

The familiar buzz of the intake door had roused Devin from her desk nap - not that she’d dozed off or anything. Night shifts just took a bit of getting used to, especially after she’d knocked herself out of the all-nighter habit. She blinked the sleep out of her eyes and willed herself to sit up in her chair when she heard the tell-tale sounds of Devin scrambled and sprung into action, her obnoxiously white shoes squeaking their way to the intake area as the officers brought in the first patient of the night. It was the first intake Devin would be doing on her own, and it was just her luck that the girl seemed to be inebriated and hostile.
With a deep breath, Devin crossed the hall and approached the nurse’s table where the patient was instructed to sit. She fumbled a bit with her clipboard for a second, not meeting the girl’s eyes as she straightened her forms. “Hi. I’m Devin. I’ll be asking you a few questions and taking your vitals tonight, before showing you to your room,” she started, going over the script in her mind to keep from tripping up. She scribbled down a few height and weight estimates and finally met the patient’s eyes, asking a few basic questions. “Name, and age, please?” she started, giving the girl an unsteady smile.
