"Just take a break." Of course, he was forcing himself to take a break so that he could convince her to. He could easily count the times he had drawn himself away from some line of work to do something that lacked productivity. "I don't need help." Maybe he shouldn't be so adamant that he would take some sort of mantle or that he would attempt to protect her. She probably wouldn't welcome that or allow it if she knew the breadth of his thoughts. But how could he help it? The idea of anyone getting hurt when he could help was something he would never entertain. "I'd rather do it myself." He sighed and let his shoulders slump a little.
