It had been remarkably long since Lark had last encountered Ezra Sutton. If she was being honest, he was one of her top nemeses. He had to share the spot with Ivy, but was sure that he didn’t mind. There had never been a conversation where she had up and told the guy, ‘oh, you’re one of my worst enemies on Icaria. Maybe we should get t-shirts.’ Yeah, that hadn’t happened. She frowned when she spotted him this time, out and about like everything was fine. “Glad to see you’re out and about,” Lark greeted with a tentative smile. She would have enjoyed the conversation opportunity more if Ezra did not remind her of the reason for the fuss behind her video, which reminded her of Steffi all over again. “Nobody really thought I had a right to be sus of you, but here we are. What sort of nonsense are you up to today with your return to conditional freedom?”

“Oh, it’s you,” Joanna said in surprise. Apparently, the shops of Icaria could also feature the notorious guy who clearly had no idea how the rules of queue worked. They weren’t lined up just yet here, but it was up to Joanna if she wanted a repeat of last time. “I thought thought that I’d hallucinated your existence or something. But no, apparently you’re either real or the most persistent imaginary nemesis I’ve ever met. Should we try to play rock paper scissors? Winner gets to continue to exist.”

Lark sung to herself under her breath, but only because she couldn’t remember the words to the song. There might have been a little more tune-ish content going on if not for those ridiculous, out-of-reach words. She had just used the washroom, and was feeling pretty refreshed after splashing way-too-cold water on her face. Her pumped-up attitude was absolutely wrecked when she returned to where she had been sitting only to find Ezra... and her bag nowhere in sight. That was all. Lark cleared her throat and raised her eyebrows. “Excuse me? I left my bag right here for literally five minutes- okay literally seven minutes, but who’s counting- and now it’s gone,” Lark said, not quite accusing the man of theft, but not ruling it out either. She needed tthe contents of the bag, okay? “I’d say that it’s only books in there, but books can get expensive, and it’s the principle behind the thing. I’m sure you saw me leave it here, so... What gives? What do you have to say for yourself, Sir?”
