Ezra tried to keep his mouth shut, he really did, but it was hard to when her arguments didn’t make any sense. “How are they completely different?” He gestured with his hands as he talked, trying to make his point clearer. “It is proper etiquette to wait in line.” Why was she coming in and criticizing flower arranging? “I didn’t see you as the type that cared about cutting flowers? But you’re honestly acting like I invented the whole thing.” He wondered if she gave Noah a hard time, too. Probably not. He sighed inwardly. Ezra couldn’t believe this was the girl that his brother talked about with such high praises. Then again, he could tell she had the same type of humor he’d talked about. “Well, you picked a good guy to be friends with,” he allowed to her.
“If you can’t tell the difference, there’s no hope for you.” Because he was right didn’t mean she would let him win. “I can hear how the flowers scream. You might not understand their pain, but I understand their anguish. Cutting them and arranging them in pretty bouquets and vases might look nice, but they wither and die before their time. And it’s all your doing.” Joanna couldn’t stand the whims of flowers, but that didn’t mean she thought their plight was pleasant. If it made her new nemesis uncomfortable, then all the better. “I know. That’s why I’m visiting your death trap that you call a business.”
