“I think I’m pregnant.”
Ava couldn’t help but snort at that statement. “Trust me, I have been pregnant before, and this is not what it feels like. This is what it feels like when you eat way too much food at Thanksgiving.” Ava groaned, rubbing her stomach softly. It was true, they had way too much food tonight, but what could she say? Lucas’s mom was a fantastic cook, and she didn’t want to offend her by not trying some of everything. While at first, she definitely didn’t regret trying every type of food available, because it was delicious, now she was regretting eating so much. They both felt pretty bloated at this point. It took more effort than Ava would have liked to roll over on her side and face Lucas. “I don’t know though.” She reached out and rubbed her boyfriend’s bloated belly with a bit of a lazy grin. “You do have a bit of a five months belly going on there.” She couldn’t help but tease. Before he could respond though, they were interrupted by a slight snore from the end of the bed. It turned out that the turkey had not just wore them out, but their little girl as well. They both looked at each other and grinned, finding nothing more adorable in that moment than their little girl curled up by them fast asleep.
“The baby is yours.”
He needed to sit down. His brain felt as if it was filled to the brim with information. Grant had this feeling before. Whenever he got it, all he had to do was sit down and sort all of those thoughts, mostly codes of information, around in his head into those neat little boxes he always imagined. This piece of information wasn’t willing to be stuffed away though. After spending so much time concerned with finding Skye, he had never thought about what her reason for leaving might have been. Well, that was a lie, he had, but he had never in his thoughts considered this. He just thought she had gotten sick of him or didn’t want to be tied down anymore. Pregnancy though? His eyes traveled down to the noticeable swell of her stomach. It had not been what he had expected. Grant couldn’t even find the words to say while she stared him down, obviously waiting for him to say something. “Good to know.” He finally managed to choke out, wringing his hands in front of him to hide their shaking. He knew that he should say more, but he just couldn’t form any more words. A child … she was having a baby. His baby. He had never even thought about children. Most of his life he had just been concerned with finding his parents, and surviving. Settling down, getting married, having babies … It just hadn’t seemed all that important to him. Until now. Grant’s eyes found Skye’s face again, and he could see behind that hard mask of hers, a face he knew so well, that she was scared too. If he was feeling like this … He couldn’t imagine how she was feeling. “I … What do you want to do?” He asked her.
“How about Adeline for a name?”
“Have you been looking up baby names for me, Grant?” Skye asked with a soft smile on her face as she rubbed her stomach gently. It was a habit that she had seemed to pick up lately she noticed. She was always touching her stomach, as if to protect her child from the outside world. It was even better when she closed her eyes. When she closed her eyes and focused, it wasn’t her hand stroking her stomach anymore, no, it was Grant’s. That was what she did now, closing her eyes so that she could better see what he himself was seeing. She could tell he was in a bedroom, actually she was fairly sure that it was a motel room. It wasn’t exactly high end, but just a regular room. She couldn’t help but be a little disappointed at the fact that he wasn’t near a mirror. Skye loved looking at him almost as much as she loved being able to imagine his touch on her skin. It was a double edged sword though because it just made her ache even more for the man’s real touch. The caress of his fingers against her skin would feel like heaven she knew. Much more so than the smooth, possessive grip Lincoln held her with. It didn’t help either that she was pregnant and constantly craving physical release from these sensations. Talking with Grant sometimes helped her take her mind off of that though. “I really like that name though. Where did you hear it?” She asked him curiously, nibbling on her bottom lip.
“So I guess it’s true. Pregnancy does make you horny.”
Ophelia jumped at her boyfriend’s words, having totally been zoned out. Really though, how had he expected her to pay attention when he was walking around shirtless. Her boyfriend had the best abs that she had ever seen in her life, including photoshopped ones in magazines. Was she really expected not to stare? Especially when her hormones were all over the place like they were now. One second she wanted to cry at just how sweet it was that he was taking care of the whole apartment and making sure it was clean and baby proof for their future arrival, the next second she wanted to rip those pants off and have her way with him because he was seriously the sexiest guy that she had ever seen. Really, it was driving her a bit mad at this point. She wasn’t used to being this emotional over such silly things. She also wasn’t used to being this horny all the time either. Don’t get her wrong, she had always had what she considered to be a healthy sexual appetite. Probably even more so because of how good and sexy her boyfriend was. This was a bit ridiculous though even she knew it. Ophelia knew that she had been caught starting, licking her lips slightly, but she still couldn’t admit to it. “What are you talking about?” She asked innocently, her face flushing at her lie, hurrying to stuff a chip into her mouth. She hoped that maybe he would mistake the hungry look in her eyes for a different kind of hunger.
“I want to feel it kick.”
“Hard to do from so many miles away.” Cordelia replied, frowning slightly as she flipped through her phone in her hand. She was trying to avoid paying attention to the screen because she didn’t want to see Juniper’s face. She was afraid that she would start crying if she did honestly. She cried over everything these days. She spent three hours holed up in her room at the White House, crying her eyes out as she watched videos of puppy adoption stories. Yes, it was exactly as pathetic as it sounded. She didn’t have much else she could do at the moment though. She wasn’t ready to let the tabloids know that she was pregnant yet, and she was more than showing. It was pretty obviously honestly. She was stuck around the house as much as possible and whenever she ventured out in public she had to wear these awful hoodies that were about three sizes bigger than normal and sweatpants because they generally covered everything. Apparently everyone thought that she was depressed being away from her girlfriend. While she was depressed, and that was one of the reasons, it certainly wasn’t the only one. She hated being stuck inside. She hated not being able to express herself with her clothing choices. Especially since she had a whole closet full of adorable maternity clothes. Cordelia wasn’t used to hiding and was finding very quickly that she did not like it. Unfortunately though, they had decided to tell the world together, and they couldn’t do that until Juniper was back in the States. The only thing keeping her going these days was that little baby inside of her. “It’s a pretty amazing feeling though.” Cordelia admitted, rubbing her stomach gently, a soft smile forming on her face.
“Is it mine?”
Summer couldn’t help but be offended at his words. She knew that he didn’t mean them. He probably wasn’t even thinking about how his words were effecting her at the moment. No, at this point, Summer liked to think that she knew him well. She knew what must be going through his mind because it was the same thing that was going through hers. How did this happen? They were always so careful. She was on the pill. He wore condoms. Meyers knew exactly what an unexpected pregnancy could do to a relationship. He had first hand experience after all. How could he end up with two of them after all this time? What were the odds? She had to have had sex with someone else right? It was the only thing that made sense. The truth was though that Summer was one of the most loyal people that you would ever met, and she had never even had the slightest thought of cheating on Meyers. Not even if Norman Reedus had knocked on her door wanting her. She was all in with Meyers at this point and the fact that he couldn’t tell that hurt her more than she was willing to admit. It didn’t help that her emotions were already on edge in the first place after this discovery herself. It made her temper spark more than it really should have. “Yeah, in all my free time when I’m not at school or working or out on dates with you or helping you watch Charlotte I’ve been fucking around you. So sorry I finally got caught.” She snapped at him.
