She doesn’t mean to eavesdrop, not on a conversation as personal as this. Still Mirana’s curiosity gets the better of her and as such, leads the young witch to hide behind the nearest wall. From her limited view, she can spot the back of Hephaestus, tensely speaking to a woman, who without a doubt is the most beautiful she’s ever seen. Instinctively, Mirana feels a twinge of jealousy when she recognizes that sweet tone, one he’s often used with Mirana and is now, using on her. She knows she shouldn’t feel this way but her heart apparently hasn’t got the memo, acting on its accord. “I must have loved you a lot.” Mirana hears him say and it is at this point, she decides she’s had enough. She can speak to Hephaestus later. With a sad smile on her face, Mirana retreats back to wonderland, realizing that once again, she’s not anyone’s first choice.
Hephaethus was briefly talking to one of the nymphs. He would admit that he tended to fall hard and fast. As usual, he found himself with his heart on his sleeve. That was his problem, wasn’t it? If he didn’t hyper fixate on work it was on someone else. But the reality was he wasn't finished with his sentence. “I must have loved you a lot but I think it’s time to part ways.” He finished rubbing the nymph’s back. “I’ll always be there for you but my heart belongs to another right now.” He smiled thinking of Mirana.
Later that day he found himself in Wonderland. His memory had her saying that at some point. He picked out a white daisy from the ground. It was beautiful just like Mirana. He saw an opulent door and walked towards it-maybe someone in the palace knew where Mirana was. He slowly entered the doorway with a shy smile on his face. “I’m looking for Mirana.”
