Hephaestus walked into the kingdom. It has been so long since he stepped into the physical place. His cane clicked as reached for the marble, there was a frown on his features. The material was so flawed, marble was supposed to be seamless. Hephaestus talked aloud, not hearing anyone behind him.
“I’m waiting for a guest thank you.” The fire god replied politely. It wasn’t a date, it wasn’t even some Hephaethus liked-it was his mother. Hera,he always had a difficult relationship with her. Despite their differences, as hard as it was to admit they had more in common. Both could be vengeful and have have been cheated on. They both have the same steely glare of dissatisfaction. So why can’t they get along?
The fire god shook his head. Hephaestus wants to believe this is strictly business. To fix the parts of Olympus that eroded since his departure. Nothing more and nothing less. He saw the statuesque woman enter the restaurant-one he has strict orders to vacate for the next hour. There was a sneer on his face.

Hephaestus considers the islands of Lemnos better home than his actual home Olympus
Has taken on an apprentice to help his mending heart
Olympus is a place he knows he has to return to even if it will mean facing his past
Personality
Heph can come off as a harsh guy. He wants to be to the point with projects. But its also the need to make a good next generation of smithers in case something happens
But they’re also someone with some honor, he deeply regrets what he has done in his past. But nowadays due to his nature strives to be honorable
Self Conscious and Worries for his health, even though he’s immortal. This was before Apollo was born so no one really could fully explain his limp to this day
Tries to be social but can fail. Fortunately, most smithers/ people who need him find his awkwardness charming
He wants friends but he isn’t the most eloquent unless he's talking about mechanics and architectures
But Heph is actually really sweet once he’s comfortable with you
Like he can talk passionately about inventions and how everyone else seems so intelligent. Heph encourages all types of arts
He’s very observant too so ideal for a friend really. Also will come to your house at 12 am to fix that lamp even though he has a limp.
As for family he loves some of them dearly- hates some with a passion, and might almost think about one a little bit too much for his health
He looks like he can kill you but is literally a panda bear
Powers:
Flame Powers (very rare, will be plotted/ appropriate setting)
Metal Manipulation (will be plotted)
Sword Combat (Very basic but He is trying to defend himself because he knows he the weaker of the Gods)
Weaponry Knowledge
Volcano Eruptions (Very rare and you have to really piss him off)
Six Quirks:
Ambidextrous- Heph practices with both hands in fear one gets broken
Grunting- Heph’s way of say uh-uh, just also shows he's listening like say with Hera he doesn’t want to give her full sentences.
Blushing- If he gets complimented he’ll turn redder then a tomato. Also happens when he sees a cutie
Visionary- has plans for inventions and tools all over his workshop
Stamina- Great at doing tasks standing still but physical stuff such as running is difficult for him.
Kinesthetic Learner-while Heph could learn via lecture, he likes getting his hands dirty. It’s also the way he teaches
Other Info:
He walks with a cane because of his weaker right leg. It can only walk short distances without it. Strike him in the back leg during a fight and he's fucked
He has a sweet tooth and loves spicy shit. Can do that fire noodle challenge and won't break a sweat
He has very messy hair
Greek Mythology had an influence but I really also had some influence with toph from atla and previous interpretation- because as someone with a disability we need more badass disabled people
Really see him with older middle child vibes. Like without him Olympus would look like a pigstye
The hero is used loosely here only because he refuses to call himself evil like his brother Ares and being neutral is the last thing he wants to be. Heph is way too opinionated on the daemon topic
Someday the brothers were going to have to talk. Today was not that day. Heph walked impatiently in the cornfield. It wasn’t as if the fire god didn’t know his disadvantaged-Heph looked down at his leg this morning. But Hephaestus would like to believe he has his own thing Ares lacked- a brain.
A cornfield might not be the most conventional location-but it was part of his strategy. Last resort but a strategy. He twirled his cane, contemplating Ares. He knew he was up against someone who was stronger than him might even be more powerful- but Heph had to fight Ares.
For his honor.
The heavy footsteps echoed as he heard the war god. He didn’t even want to see the man who ruined his life. There was a smirk.
“ it’s a bird! it’s a plane! it’s … me, trying to outrun my feelings. there i go. ” ( iris + heph pls and thanksies )
Heph stared at the now rainbow-colored forge. Maybe he should have asked to talk outside. He ran his fingers through his hair. Unsure what to say. “So.....how is that working out for you.” He asked sarcastically. He shook his head.
“Just talk it out-I know Kai can be....”Heph paused. She was his best apprentice but even he can tell shes “Stubborn but she is a great listener.” Heph nodded. “Just promise me you’ll at least try instead of making my forge your next gallery?”
He rubbed her shoulder. “I wouldn’t have anyone else be my daughter by law.”
She doesn’t mean to eavesdrop, not on a conversation as personal as this. Still Mirana’s curiosity gets the better of her and as such, leads the young witch to hide behind the nearest wall. From her limited view, she can spot the back of Hephaestus, tensely speaking to a woman, who without a doubt is the most beautiful she’s ever seen. Instinctively, Mirana feels a twinge of jealousy when she recognizes that sweet tone, one he’s often used with Mirana and is now, using on her. She knows she shouldn’t feel this way but her heart apparently hasn’t got the memo, acting on its accord. “I must have loved you a lot.” Mirana hears him say and it is at this point, she decides she’s had enough. She can speak to Hephaestus later. With a sad smile on her face, Mirana retreats back to wonderland, realizing that once again, she’s not anyone’s first choice.
Hephaethus was briefly talking to one of the nymphs. He would admit that he tended to fall hard and fast. As usual, he found himself with his heart on his sleeve. That was his problem, wasn’t it? If he didn’t hyper fixate on work it was on someone else. But the reality was he wasn't finished with his sentence. “I must have loved you a lot but I think it’s time to part ways.” He finished rubbing the nymph’s back. “I’ll always be there for you but my heart belongs to another right now.” He smiled thinking of Mirana.
Later that day he found himself in Wonderland. His memory had her saying that at some point. He picked out a white daisy from the ground. It was beautiful just like Mirana. He saw an opulent door and walked towards it-maybe someone in the palace knew where Mirana was. He slowly entered the doorway with a shy smile on his face. “I’m looking for Mirana.”
“ i don’t like to talk about it, but i wanted you to know. ”
Hephaethus didn’t like to talk about it. Feelings-the one thing Hephaethus can’t wrap his head around. The god just either pushed them down or let them explode in a fiery rage. So when he sees Psyche, looking a bit down, he debated with himself. At that moment Hephaethus knew. He has to talk about feelings. He sat down next to her, eyes looking at her with concern.
“I’m not the best with feelings.” The fire god confessed. “But if you want to talk about them, I’ll try my best to listen.”
Heph was staring doorway of the spa. How can he face his fears if he can’t even face the other. The fire god was nervous. He just needed to talk to her. Isn’t it what the expression was? Do it for closure. The fire god took a hasty breath. Here goes nothing. He closed his eyes and finally entered the doorway, a lanky rugged male stands out against the softer background.
"Can I talk to Aphrodite?” He asked raising his sunglasses down. “Tell her, It’s Heph.”
