i wanted the springtime pastel photoshoot everyone else did, so here we are ! the family doesn’t celebrate easter or w/e, but there’s likely some spring equinox situation i haven’t done any worldbuilding around yet :^) anyway, i made myself sad w/ this because ... it’s not technically canon adjkfadfkj it’s pretty tho !!!

If [Insert character(s) of your choosing here] could travel through time, where would they go?

fantastic question. absolutely A+ ! i’m going to give a few answers because there are so many ways this could go.

❧      my first thought is that alfonso would want to time travel to the point in time after he has passed, to make sure that beatriz is okay. he has a lot of worries ! he knows that will be a hard time for many reasons, and he’s right about all of that, so ... he’d just want to see for himself, maybe in hopes that he could help improve things before all of it happens. classic time travel hope which inevitably produces a self-fulfilling prophecy, huh? 

❧      beatriz, as a child, would want to see herself as queen. she would go straight to her coronation and be—as she expects it—absolutely delighted by the sight of it. adult beatriz would go back to the day her father dies and ... do things differently. i think she would also fast-forward to the present, to the twilight years of her own life, just to see if she’s a different person. there’s not really a value judgement attached to it—nothing she’s expecting to see, for better or worse—but i believe she has wistful wonderings in her middle age that would prompt her to want to see what the end of her life is like. did she get what she deserved, whatever that means? she would also want to go back to the beginning and see her favorite heroes and places—canarís, the hunter, the shining city by the sea, alam palace when it was first built ... 

❧      rowena would go back to the year her brother died and, on the assumption she could intervene, would make him get on a different ship !!!! she would also want to see the year 2000 ! she would expect flying cars and who knows what other things. i think she would be pleased with what she saw, for the most part. she would also, at most points in her later life, want to go back to her wedding day— just to see herself and alf as they were then and appreciate things she didn’t know then that she would miss so much.
