Saw someone on Reddit claiming that Takumi's mind 'gave up first' in the endurance match but imo it's just as possible that Eito broke first and Takumi followed, or it happened at the same time, the main takeaway being 'Eito was in no condition to assume control' and not 'Takumi came through the ordeal with his sanity intact' because-

^ ...well, that. It was heavily implied that it could lead to this outcome if Takumi kept it up- less 'controlled' and more 'permanently damaged'- also the fact he's perceiving everyone as themselves

Think I've got a grasp of what it was about ch05 that was fucking me up so badly

Ever wished to cause harm to some bench who's living rent free in your head whose influence you just want to kill

Over. And over

And over and over

If that's what it took and I could have done, I would've done it until nothing was left of me or them. That's the kind of person I was and that haunts me even now because the Game the other person seemed to want me to play was unwinnable

All they wanted to do was drag me down for how I reacted and I didn't see any way out. No compromise. No fairness. I was the unfair one but I was being trapped in an unfair game

That feeling still lives in my body like a curse. I can only hope that it'll go away but at this rate I won't hold my breath
