Clint & Kate

Oh boy, did Clint try to resist falling for the better Hawkeye. Didn’t he know that resistance was futile? Kate got him though, with all of her beauty and grace and the fact she’s not afraid to punch him in the face when he’s being a dick. Now he’ll do anything for her and he’ll risk everything to keep her safe.

Steve & Kate

This ship is still relatively new in my mind but that doesn’t stop Steve from crushing hardcore on his piano teacher. Steve has a thing for strong women who know how to keep others in line and Kate is definitely one of those women. At the moment, he is still dealing with everything he went through during his time in the army but life isn’t so terrible when Miss Bishop is around.

Jess & Kate

Oh my gosh, Kate makes Jess so happy. And Jess is never happy. She pretends she is but Kate actually makes Jess really happy. And all of that was before they started to be involved romantically. Any time spent with Kate is never wasted as far as Jess is concerned, even if all they do is nothing but lie in bed together.

Steve had gone on countless expeditions with the army and had gone for days without any proper rest. He had learned how to survive on minimal amounts of sleep and to keep going, even when he was exhausted.

However, after three hours of helping Kate out with some of the kids she cared for, Steve was done!

The kids’ parents had taken the little darlings away and Kate’s place was a mess but that didn’t stop Steve from dropping onto Kate’s couch and staying there. Kate came into the living room and looked at Steve, then the mess he and the kids had made, then back at Steve.

“Up and at ‘em, soldier,” she said brightly, nudging Steve’s leg with her foot. “This place isn’t going to get tidy if you stay on the couch.”

“Just give me a minute,” Steve said as he tried to hold back a yawn.

“Steve, you can nap later,” Kate said, her stern teacher voice being used on him. Usually that tone, when it was used towards him, was a turn-on; right now he was too tired.

“Just a minute.”

Kate tutted under her breath. She made the mistake of standing a little too close to the couch. Steve reached up, grabbed her wrist, and pulled so that she fell onto the seat next to him. She started to protest as Steve rested against her.

“Just a minute,” Steve repeated before yawning loudly.

“You have no stamina,” Kate commented. Steve would have tried to defend himself but he was too busy napping. Kate laughed quietly to herself and let him sleep. The mess could wait for a while until her soldier was ready to face it with her.

When Amelia first got the notification that she received a text from Steve, she was nervous. Was something wrong? Was he hurt?

However, his text (and the photo) made her smile, her heart actually fluttering a little. He always had that affect on her.

[TEXT: Steve] You deserve more than I could ever possibly give you. Come home, safe Captain.

Steve smiled at her message. He was already munching on his third cookie despite his efforts to try and ration them and make them last longer than a few minutes. 

[text] Sweetheart, you already give me so much and I will always be grateful that I finally found you.

It occurred to him as he hit the send button that the simple text had replaced the letters he had seen his fellow soldiers write back in the ‘40′s. Sure, texts were quicker but they didn’t seem enough somehow. While he waited for Amelia’s next response, he started the hunt of pen and paper.

He was so gentle, so tender and full of love… She melted into the kiss, her eyes fluttering shut as she eagerly returned it.  A kiss so precious that whatever troubles had been plaguing her mind earlier faded away, and all she focus on was this one singular act from the Captain.

When Steve asked what he could do to make her feel better, Amelia was joking when she answered with ‘kiss me’, not thinking the star spangled Avenger actually would do it. But he did–and she did feel better.

Could something as simple as a kiss really help ease Amelia’s troubles?

Steve had seen that she was stressed, the call of duty weighing heavily on her shoulders as she rushed around after the Avengers. Unfortunately he couldn’t do anything to help since he was one of those Avengers that she was rushing around after. It wasn’t until the mission was over that he could pull her to one side, somewhere where it was just the two of them.

“Did it work?” He whispered when their lips broke apart. He stayed close to her, their foreheads touching, his hands still cupping her face gently. “Do you need another?”

They had been fake married for a while now. It was starting to feel almost real for Steve, except whenever he reminded himself that it was just a job. When this mission was over, him and Carol would go back to being friends and colleagues. He tried not to think about how much he didn’t want to go back to being friends.

They were walking back to their hotel suite, arm in arm, from a dinner out with their mark. The meal had gone well and Carol had managed to gain additional information that needed to be fed back to HQ. “You did good tonight,” Steve said as he adjusted his arm around Carol’s waist, inadvertently pulling her body to press closer to his as they walked.

“After I lost Peggy, I never thought I would be able to fall for someone else again.” Steve spoke earnestly although his confession made him feel a little awkward, a little too exposed, even though he was speaking to his soul mate. “Waking up from the ice was difficult and the first few years were a struggle for me. Then you came into my life and everything seemed-” he paused to let out a nervous sounding laugh “- I don’t want to say ‘not as bad’ but it’s like that but better.” He could command soldiers and fellow team mates with his words but he was having difficulties with this kind of emotional conversation. “What I’m trying to say is I am so thankful you are in my life and that you’re my soul mate, Amelia.”

Embarrassed, she couldn’t help but giggle though as she still squirmed until he put her down. She raised an eyebrow, smiling slightly as she tried to stop laughing. “You carried me all the way into the kitchen, just to try your sauce?” Amelia chuckled, but she did lean in and sampled it, licking her lips, her smile growing. “Wow. That’s–That’s really good!” she chimed. “I didn’t know you could cook.”

“How else was I supposed to get your attention?” Steve asked with a laugh. He waited patiently as Amelia tried his sauce and grinned brightly at her when she praised it. “I’ve been teaching myself,” he told her as he stirred the sauce a few times. “Back in the ‘40′s, it wasn’t always easy to make food taste good because of rationing. These days, well, you can get overwhelmed with the choices now and I decided I had to learn to do more than just boil everything.”
