Will and Logan have always been just like that, Will-and-Logan. For years, that’s been the only thing that makes sense in Will Meijer’s life. From playing in the junior leagues together, applying to colleges together, and planning on making it pro together. John Logan is the only thing he’s ever been able to count on. Wherever he goes, Logan will be. Until their third year of college comes around, and everything Will thought he could count on is ripped out from under him. Garrett gets a girlfriend, and suddenly Logan can barely even look at Will anymore. It’s fine, until it isn’t, and suddenly Will is getting drunk and parties and kissing girls he doesn’t like and he refuses to talk to any of his friends about it because nothing is wrong, really, except that Will doesn’t like drinking and he definitely doesn’t like girls and somewhere, deep down, he’s always thought that he and Logan would be together forever. Like that. In his third year of college, Will makes new friends, figures out he's gay, discovers that he's been in love with his best friend for about as long as he's known him, and doesn't get the guy.

A severe weather warning felt ominous in the wake of the aquarium flooding some months ago. Devrim still found it difficult to be around water. Even the thought of heavy rain made him uneasy, but mostly because of Savannah. "Looks like we need to get indoors." An assertion he made with his eyes to the sky. Dark clouds had formed above and threatened rain at any moment. His first priority was keeping Savannah dry, but once he'd found a barn for them to ride out the storm in he asked, "Is Serra with your mom?" In that house, his heart rate increased, a strong breeze away from falling into the water? From the barn door Devrim watched the storm roll in with a worried expression. His demeanor shifting slightly as he saw Will approach. "Hey, man! Come on in." With a wave he welcomed the witch into the barn with them. "You met Savannah yet?"

The jade became human skin as soon as he saw her - as if a mask he wore only for the others was melting. No, he hadn't forgotten anything, neither her nor himself, but Clara wasn't sure if what she saw on his face was love. Relief, even an inkling of triumph - not necessarily a feeling she knew from Will - and ... why that? Guilt.

almost definitely will have more thoughts tomorrow but man. will DID it. she's FREE and maybe even HAPPY but it doesn't really matter because she isn't chained down anymore, metaphorically OR literally!!!!

Dear Will, ( @will--matthews )

Though this year has been a rough one for many you seem to have held your own remarkably well. For your gift, I wanted to thank you for the service you do. Helping others is no easy feat, for some, but now someone wants to give back to you, just a little bit. Attached you will find a new outdoor jacket to keep you warm, as I know from experience that the trails around the island can get rather cold. The dog is, as it were, a ‘redeem as you’d wish.’ You do so much for so many, why not give you a friend to help you right along? There’s a spot reserved at the animal shelter with your name on it. Go make a best friend. Or, if you do not like dogs, a cat will do just fine. Finally, a free year’s supply of ice cream, for after those hard days at work when you need to relax and unwind.

“We don’t have much in the ways of cooked food for a meal, but we have plenty of cold foods that can tide you over till morning,” Will says. The look on his face is softer now, the trace of a smile gracing his pink lips. Clay looks away before anyone can catch him staring. “Want a sandwich? Some chips? I think we still have some cookies left from the last grocery trip, right?”

“Can’t say no to the lunch of a grade school kid, can I?” Clay says with a sardonic grin, shoving his hands in his pockets. Will is not looking at him once more, but moving right along. “What kind of sandwich are we talking, though?”
