she tried to ignore him at first, the belligerent man who had kept creeping closer and closer to her, trying instead to focus on the band onstage as her eyes darted around for her best friend. it was his idea in the first place, going to concerts like these though eden much preferred quiet nights in, movies and wine and watercoloring on the floor. still, these kinds of things could be fun — but only with noel around and expressly without obnoxious strangers trying to hit on her. “i, uh, have a boyfriend, he’s somewhere around here," she lied to the stranger as he tugged on her shoulder for attention, her best friend falling into vision just as the man had grabbed her arm, “noel! there you are, I was just telling this guy I had a boyfriend,” eden said, her eyes widening at him to not blow her cover.
