Amy & Hazel
Amy was in the school library prepping for her classes to come. She picked up a couple statistics books, English, and art literature. Amy went to the literature section and grabbed a couple of her favorites. She picked up Catcher in the Rye, Nineteen Minutes, Room, and The Glass Castle. She dusted them off, and turned the corner. Amy felt a huge thud before ending up on the floor and the books scattered around her. “Well, that’s one way to start the semester.”

HAZEL CAMPOS
Ü — your muse walks in on my muse naked.
"Oliver! Oliver, where are you? You know, you give me a key to your apartment and you’re not even here? Oliver, answer me!" There was silence and Hazel decided to take a seat, moments later noticing she had to use the bathroom. She knew where everything was, anyway. The brunette whipped the door open quickly, "Oliver! Oh my God, oh God — Wow.” She thought for a moment, almost staring .. “You do look good in your birthday suit.” Walking out of the bathroom with her eyes closed, silently.
TITLE: Sand AUTHOR: Lina CHARACTERS: Hazel Mires, Julian Miles, Vivienne Casey, Rosie Castro, Malia Casey, Parker Valentine, Brielle Cote SHIPS: Hazel/Julian (one-sided) LENGTH: One-shot TRIGGER WARNING: None DESCRIPTION: Hazel watches her friends play volleyball and thinks about Julian. Disclaimer: We should all hope and look towards the day where man realizes that the sounds exiting his mouth are mostly complaints and a change occurs. Also, characters might be ooc.
In the sand of the artificial beach created to play volleyball, six people whack the ball at each other over the net. Rosie, Julian, and Viv make up one team, and Brielle, Malia, and Parker make up the other. Hazel was roped in by Viv and Malia to keep track of points after teams had already been made, so Hazel moved from one reading location (her bed) to another (the volleyball pit). She’d barely glanced at Julian when she arrived and was glad for her book to direct her attention to.
Looking up as she combs her hair back, she catches Parker twerking in his short-shorts. Malia, in her matching pair, laughs at Parker, and they both miss the ball that lands between them. Hazel chuckles at this. Rosie, Viv, and Julian cheer and Hazel returns to her book.
Once again, the game of volleyball is in an entirely different dimension than the one she is in with her book. And she’s thrown out of the dimenion when a new character in the book is introduced named Jules.
Hazel stares at the name, biting her lip, and then looks up at the real Jules. He’s diving for the volleyball before it touches the ground, hitting it up, and Viv or Rosie—she wasn’t paying attention to them—sends the ball back over the net. She watches Julian high-five Rosie. Watches him jog back to his spot in the sand and brush the sand off his hands. Watches him lift up the front of his shirt to wipe sweat off his face. Watches his exposed skin while it’s exposed. Watches him waggle his eyebrows at Viv and hit the volleyball when it falls toward him. Watches him notice she’s staring and sees him narrow his blue eyes at her.
Hazel quickly averts her eyes and pretends to have been watching Viv. Viv, who’s all long legs and tan skin. Her best friend but not her equal. A girl who exists to make girls like Hazel jealous. Of course Julian likes Viv.
Julian never flirted with Hazel like he does with other people. Hazel’s brain reminds her of this too often. She’d been just a friend to him. He never wanted her, even before he hated her. Hazel knows this well.
That day in the kitchen when she agreed to date Sean and Julian had been so angry, Hazel loved that. She loved to imagine that Julian had been furious because he was jealous. It was such a stupid idea, but she thought that maybe if she got together with someone else, Julian would stop being stupid and realize his feelings for her. But Julian began to ignore her and Hazel knew she was totally wrong.
She’s grown to love Sean, really love him. But looking at Julian or hearing someone talk about him puts a flutter in her gut that she’s never felt with Sean.
It’s weird to feel like choosing Sean over Julian that day in the kitchen was the simultaneously the worst and best day. Sean is the most amazing boyfriend she’s ever had and it feels so good to be loved and to love. But she’d never have Julian.
