"Stay with me. Come on, just a little longer." // "Shush, just concentrate on staying awake, okay? Don't sleep." // "Listen to my voice, okay? I need you to stay with me. I'm bringing you to the hospital." // "Oh, god. Please be alive. Please still be alive." // "There's nothing they can do. I-- I'm so sorry." (I'm going to regret sending these.)
"Stay with me. Come on, just a littlelonger."
Breathing was becoming difficult and shewasn’t sure if she would be able to speak. There were so many things she wantedto say to the woman hovering over her. All Rian wanted to tell her was how muchshe meant to her, to finally get over her fear and tell the other girl how muchshe loved her. She didn’t think she’d ever get that chance now. God, why hadn’tshe been paying better attention? The first rule of being outside you learn asa child is to look both fucking ways when you cross the street. She did herbest to focus her thoughts back on Maisie, but it was becoming harder andharder to do so. All she wanted to do was exactly what Maisie was asking her todo, but she just didn’t think that was going to happen. She squeezed the othergirls hand, wanting to get the ‘I love you’ out but when she tried all shecould do was cough, something hot and thick leaving her mouth as she did so.The world around her became even more fuzzy and she focused her eyes up at thebeautiful woman in front of her, praying and hoping she knew just how much sheloved her.
"Shush, just concentrate on staying awake, okay? Don't sleep."
His eyelids had never felt this heavybefore. Ward had had his fair share of bullet wounds, but this felt didn’t.There was always so much pain and an acute awareness of things around him. Thistime though was different, there was no pain, and actually he felt a weirdsense of peacefulness. It was something he had never really felt in his entirelife, and he was fairly sure it was because of the voice he could hear speakingto him. Skye was his peacefulness, the only good thing in this life of his. Shehad always been there for him, they had always been there for each other evenwhen they hadn’t even know it and he was immensely glad she was going to be thelast thing he saw in this world. “I’m tired. Lay down with me?” He asked with a smile on his face whilehe tried to lift his hand to pull her closer towards him, but he found his mindand body didn’t want to cooperate with him and all he managed was to twitch hisfingers.
"Listen to my voice, okay? I need you to staywith me. I'm bringing you to the hospital."
Wyn nodded her head at his words, notable to get any words of her own out with all the pain she was feeling at themoment. The meeting they had been at had went wrong so quickly, and before sheeven knew what was happening bullets were flying. The bullet had went straightthrough her and from everything she had heard that was a good sign, granted shehad only always seen that on and in movies but she was going to take it as agood sign for now. “Lee I can hear you just fine. I don’t think I’m dying sodon’t go freaking out on me, okay?” She said, trying to give him a smile beforewincing from the pain that shot through her side. “You think this is going toleave a badass scar? Cause I better get something for all this damn pain.” Shecomplained, as she looked up at the man beside her suddenly becoming very angryas she noticed all of her blood on him. “I want him dead.” She demanded him, referringto the man who had sent a bullet through her, brushing her hand against hischeek as she looked at the worry in his eyes.
"Oh, god. Please be alive. Please still bealive."
Celeste just laid there for a moment, letting the ringing in her head subside. She wasn’t exactly sure what hadhappened. The last thing she could remember was dancing on a chair to the musicblasting through their room, but now she was lying flat on her back on theground and she was fairly certain her head was bleeding based on the warmth shefelt there. When she heard Talisa’s voice speaking to her though she couldn’thelp but giggle, that giggle soon quickly turning into a fully blown laugh attack.“I’m alive!” She yelled dramatically between her laughter, as she bolted upright and threw her hands in the hair. “Oh gosh, my head hurts though.” Shetold her, putting a hand to her forehead. “I shouldn’t have sat up that fast,”The girl said before she fell into a fit of laughter again.
"There's nothing they can do. I-- I'm sosorry."
There was no need forhim to tell her this. She knew, it was written all over his face and she couldjust feel it. Could feel the life slipping from her. This wasn’t the way shewanted to go, and certainly not in front of her husband and king, not afterhaving just given birth to their daughter. She knew this wouldn’t be easy forhim, wasn’t certain he would be able to handle this. It was what hurt to most, knowing how much pain he was going to be in watching her go. Too much blood hadbeen lost though and no matter how hard her midwives and doctor tried to stopthe bleeding it just wouldn’t let up, and she knew there wasn’t much time leftfor her. “Bring me the baby,” She told her hand maiden weakly, a small smileforming on her lips as the baby was placed in her arms. Isabel pealed her eyesfrom her daughter to look at her husband, the tears starting to flow as shedid. “You’re going to be such an amazing father, Stephen. Promise me you’ll take good care of her?” She whispered, trying to give him a weak smile. “I am so sorry, my love.” She breathed, wanting more than anything not to leave them.
