It was an ambush. Vader lifted one of the advancing rebelsoff his feet and slammed him into a wall before tossing his saber at him,impaling him. Retrieving his lightsaber, he flourished it and redirected theblaster bolts that swarmed around him at their origin, the pack of scum thatdared to enter his base. He heard something strike flesh and instinctively herose his hand to his chest—but then realized that he hadn’t been hit. Turninghis head, he saw the man in a suit identical to his collapse. Furious, Vaderreached out to the Dark Side of the Force, harnessing its power as he choked thelife out of the culprit. All was silent aside from his mechanical breathing. Vaderdeactivated his weapon and stepped over bodies before finally reaching Chad. Heregarded him for a moment and then turned on his heel, leaving him to his fate.
