so what are your thoughts on chaejin and what went down with him and kibum? 👀i feel like that whole timeline went under so many people’s radars
mmmm yeah, it really went under the radar.
ok, so like, i feel like this kinda swerves into an uncomfortable area of, people speculating that kibum's dating every guy he's close to, and, yeah, that's not cool. not saying you're one of those people anon, but, ehhhhh, it's a fine line with some people.
i never really thought anything about them at the time, other than they're friends, and key has a fuckton of friends, lol, and before enlistment he posted so many selfies with so many people.
but, i will say that the way fans felt about chaejin is veeeery reminiscent of how they were with hyeongseop. people thought they might be dating, which causes immediate hate for some reason?? and they got annoyed when he posted that he was wearing something of key's, or when he posted about commega, or was with key in general. i even saw a few people saying that he was using key like hyeongseop did.
which, is something that annoys me in itself. like, key's a grown ass man, very clever, and from what i've observed of him, a good judge of character. the way some fans want to jump on people they think are 'using' him, is ridiculous. y'all don't know him, or his friends to make claims like that!
anyway, kibum and chaejin were pretty close for a few years, from like late 2016/early 2017 i think? and i know he was even on an ep of cheongdam keychin.
also, chaejin had a bit of a scandal where some photos of him and a woman were visibly drunk and just, messing around, got leaked, so that made fans hate him even more for being associated with key when he had bad press. key didn't seem to care though, and even talked about the scandal on cheongdam keychin lol, and was all like 'why can't you manage your private life well?' hdhdjsnsksksk
aaaandd, i remember being hyped at one point because chaejin is also friends with teen top's ricky, who is my bias, and they all hung out together. which was very cute.
chaejin also hung out with nicole too! which should say something about how close he and key were, because we all know nicole is one of kibum's very best friends
then, in in think late 2019?? they unfollowed each other, and chaejin deleted all his pics of them, except this, very cute one, of when he visited key during his enlistment, which is still on his insta now.
now, as i have said before, who key follows and doesn't follow on insta, is in no way indicative of who he's friends with irl, and key tends to go on mini unfollow sprees every now and then, so??? make of that what you will.
they could have been dating, they could just have been friends, they might still be friends even?
it's not as notorious as keyseop because it wasn't as loud, but, it did follow a similar pattern in terms of fan reaction which, i think is pretty interesting.
