I still recall when chain wallets were all the fad. I won’t say exactly when so that I don’t end up moping over youthful days long gone, but let’s wax enamored over another type of “chain wallet” as we dive into a tremendous new tune from Norwegian indie trio Chain Wallet. It’s been two long years since we first fell for their shimmering dream pop and swirly synthwave, lightly striated with luscious post-punk, but we fall all over again after encountering No Ritual, a must for fans of bands like Wild Nothing, Beach Fossils, and Real Estate, with a hefty drenching of Washed Out’s incandescent rippling chillwave.
