     Anger laced her voice, but as soon as the words tumbled out Ann realized she wasn’t actually mad at Ryuji; she was frustrated. Studying had never really been her strong suit, and while she did make an attempt to pay attention to class most of it just went right over her head. Watching the rest of the group breeze through exams only added insult to injury, but at least Ann knew she could take solace in the knowledge that Ryuji was right there with her--if not in worse shape. 

     So how on earth had he reached enlightenment before her?

     “Ugh, sorry. I didn’t mean it like that.” Not really, anyway. “It’s just that I totally don’t get this formula. I mean--when am I gonna even use math like this in real life?

A young man tells him mentally while a red bird that looks like a spherical plushie chirping, flying above him. "I know, Eito. I know. It's just exciting and I'm nervous, okay? I mean we get to meet our hero, you know!" He grinned at the bird.

Eito chirps.

"Right, let's do this!" Daichi replied. The young sorcerer enters the building and makes his way to the Spirits and Such Consultation Office.

The jewel summoner leaned into Neff's personal space with a slightly casual attitude (one could mistake his attitude as if he did not care at all). His hazel eyes finally rolled in the socket before he tilted his head towards her, letting them land on the woman. He nudges her with his shoulder before reaching down with his free left hand to hold her right hand in it. "Happy Birthday, Neff. Where would you like to go? My treat."

She notices the way he seems to try to get her attention, looking at him yet making no effort to do anything more. Her expression comes with raised eyebrows and a tilt of the head instead of a verbal 'what is it that you want?', only being replaced with the tiniest smirk when he decides to take her hand.

Gaze retreats from him, feigning thought with a purse of her lips. She could be nice to him, all things considered, but it was the fact that she enjoyed challenging him that made him change his tune on her in the first place.

"Somewhere where your money won't save you~" She mimics his shoulder bump and tightens her hand around his. "Take me somewhere with a view. I'm gonna teach you the ways of people who don't come from money~" Her usual jab, but maybe - just maybe - there was something more between the lines. "You up for a challenge?~"

Comte walked over towards Olivier as the Paladin was attempting to place himself into a defensive stance. That did not faze the alchemist vampire one bit. The dual-colored-eyed man looked down at the human before reaching his left hand to place the fingertips upon Olivier's jawline.

❛ There is some sort of God up that mocks all lives that reside on this mortal plane for sure. ❜

But the truth could only be discovered through more research and experiments that Comte wish to conduct. But his favorite distraction was in front of him right now as the vampire lowered his left hand down to Olivier's chest, flattening the hand on the man's slow-breathing chest.

► ◣🔫◥ || OLIVIER. That paladin's name echoed in Dante's mind as he glared upwards towards a vampire that seemed to attempt to sneak in an attack upon the chainsaw-wielding man. Fear gripped Dante by his chest as he brought up his revolver and fired at the vampire behind Olivier. He just glared at the paladin who seemed to want to protest.

With a quick reflex, the dhampir had managed to run over to Olivier to try to grab the paladin by his left forearm to yank him out of the battlegrounds.

"Com'on ya idiot! I ain't lettin' ya die here! Now com'on!"
