Coming to England hadn’t been part of the original plan. In truth, when Urahara had escaped with Rose and the others to the World of the Living, the intention had been for everyone to lay low together somewhere in Japan until things had died down. Enough so to attempt to “fix” the damage Aizen’s experiments had wrought. Unfortunately, that was exactly what had been expected of them, and Japan became a hot spot for the Soul Society’s search parties.
So, in order to avoid capture and subsequent execution, the group had gone their separate ways for the time being. At least until the heat died down. Rose couldn’t say he minded so much. This city he fled to, London, while it was vastly different in culture to what he was used to, carried a particular sense of style to it. The fashion here was rather elegant, and while carrying Kinshara plainly through the streets with him became out of the question, he had no problems blending in with the general public with his Zanpakuto concealed under a long coat or similar garment. Well, granted no one more spiritually inclined caught onto his strange presence, but that was why the disgraced shinigami refused to travel without his weapon now.
That was how he found himself armed for a simple visit to the operahouse at least. Kinshara was easily hidden under the ornate dark cloak Rose had picked out for the occasion, and the large ribbon holding his hair back was a shade of violet that complimented his eyes wonderfully. He had always been a patron of the arts, especially music, and the draw of such a venue had gripped him ever since he first arrived in this city. It wasn’t an event he wished to miss.
All of the other attendees seemed to be dressed in a similarly extravagant fashion. Patterned coats, ballgowns, and complex hats were visible in every direction, but it was a flash of crimson passing by that caught the shinigami’s attention. He turned to see an elaborately dressed figure, sporting a stunning ballgown in deep tones of red, with hair of a similarly rich hue.
A stunning display.
“Excuse me.” Rose called out softly. “Pardon the suddenness of such a comment, but I must say you look magnificent this evening. That shade of red is simply exquisite.”
