" I know, I know, I'm sorry. I said I was sorry." Denji repeats for the 6th, maybe 7th time now. "You say that, but I don't think you mean it..." You say, sighing as you patch him up, kneeled in front of him, cleaning wounds and scratches on his arms.
Denji pouts, wincing as you dab antiseptic onto a particularly painful gash. "I worry about you, Denji, you know that, right?" He doesn’t meet your eyes. Just stares at the floor, blood still drying along his collarbone. “Yeah, well… I can’t just not fight. Someone’s gotta do it. Right...?"
You nod as if you understand, but you don't. Why does if always have to be Denji, your Denji, who's always getting beaten and bloodied up for others. Who always sacrifices himself for the peace of others. "Mh. Just... Try to stay alive?" You say, finally looking up at him.
"Eehhh..." he pauses, tilting his head. "I guess. I guess I can try." He grins, glancing back at you. "No promises though, okay? If getting beaten up means I get to have you fix me back up everytime, I guess i don't mind it, hm?" You just purse your lips at him, dabbing at a scratch on his arm a little harder. Denji flinches, whimpering at you. "Ow !! You're doing that on purpose." He says, pouting at you again.
You just roll your eyes at him. "Don't flirt with me when your bleeding on my floor. And yeah, of course I am." You admit, giving him a small smile, though it fades not too long after. "Just... Promise you'll be careful. For me, Denji?"
He looks away from you, tapping his chin as he thinks. "Yeah. Okay. I'll be careful," ge agrees, nodding.
