🌿 Ritual in a Jar: Homemade Chai Concentrate
Soundtrack: the soft clink of spices hitting the mortar. The gentle whistle of the kettle. The quiet exhale of a house still waking up.
This is how my mornings start xwith spice, steam, and a little bit of stillness.
Out here on the edge of Prescott, Arizona, my kitchen is always warm. Sometimes messy. Sometimes loud with teenagers. But always full of heart.
This chai concentrate recipe? It’s not just a shortcut. It’s my little jar of calm in a world that moves fast.
🫖 Why I Started Making It
For years, I made masala chai the traditional way whole spices, strong black tea, the works. But let’s be real: life doesn’t always give you 20 quiet minutes and a clean saucepan.
That’s why I started making chai concentrate. A small batch on Sunday, and I’ve got my chai ritual ready all week for iced lattes, hot mugs, or cozy sips in between Zoom calls and math homework checks.
🧡 The Flavor Is Real
This isn’t store-bought syrup with “natural flavor.” It’s cloves, cardamom, cinnamon sticks, black tea, and fresh ginger. It’s whatever sweetener you want (or none at all).
You get to choose what goes into your cup. And that? That feels powerful.
🥣 The Vibe
Think:
simmering spices in amber water
sunlight hitting a mug on the windowsill
cinnamon dust on your sleeve
warmth you can sip
Honestly, there’s nothing more grounding.
