An unknown Haltichellinae species from Hawaii, face on, thin, wears antennae low on face, yo Chalcid Wasp
Look at those legs!Â
Chalcids are like that. I am not quite sure what the purpose is, but these buff (but very small) insects are parasites of other insects. This one was found in the Dominican Republic, but similar ones can be found right around my house in Maryland.
More tiny beings in Hand Sanitizer.Â
This is a small chalcid parasitic wasp in the Psilochalcis genus.Â
Probably a parasite of lepidoptera larvae.
Dominican Republic
Mystery Wasp....I think it is a Chalcid. Â This was from 2014 and was collected in Anne Arundel County and... I can't quite recall why we took this picture. Â Can someone id the wasp for us? Thanks Pilgrims. Â Picture taken by Wayne Boo.
