Pros and cons of different marking tools
In marking toolboxes, you often have a lot of tools for better crafting of embroidery designs and sewing. But no one knows which one is best for your needs. Here we are going to make a list of some marking tools with their pros and cons.
Regular everyday chalk
This marking tool is available in many colors and thicknesses.
Pros
On projects, it doesn't need to be removed; it's easy to use. And when it comes to its price don't worry, they are cheaper than many other marking tools.
Cons
This may deform the fabric during cleaning. It may be difficult to use due to its thickness and can be messy.
Chalk pencil
It is a popular marking tool for many embroidery products. Chalk pencil for sewing has many pros.
Pros
Marking pencils are available in many colors, including yellow, red, and white. This marking tool is better than regular chalk as you can sharpen it just like a pencil to draw intricate designs. Chalk pencil for sewing is best for those fabrics that require a hard and visible mark.
Cons
Chalk pencil for sewing is permanent and does not come off. Cleaning or erasing the mark can easily distort the fabric.
Erasable pen
This marking tool has two use and two sides one is to draw lines or patterns, and the other is to remove the mistake.
Pros
Made to mark on the fabric and give fine lines for precise marking. The erasable area is connected to the pen, so if your hand slip while tracing, you erase the wrong mark without pushing or rubbing it hard. As rubbing can damage your fabric.
Cons
It takes time to clear or remove the ink. Expensive then than tailor's chalk.
Friction heat pen
It is like a gel pen, which vanishes when the heat is applied to it by ironing or friction from a 'rubbing out.' It has a fine tip and available in a range of intense colors that is visible for many fabrics.
Pros
A friction heat pen is available in many colors and useful for precise marking. It disappears with the heat.
Cons
It is an expensive marking tool.

Weekends are for new ideas. Can’t deny, that I have a thing for oldschool #clipboards. Why not find the matching #handlettering quote for the backside? This could get a possible new screenprint project. 🧐 #insketchesfirstbeliever #chalkpencil (hier: Vanportrait)
