Challenge 72: Then, Now: Food Food Chain

I took an old concept (the orange at the top, about to eat a banana) and expanded on it for this challenge. It sort of evolved into a mini comic... banana eats blueberries, orange eats banana, pineapple eats orange. King Piña is definitely at the top of the cannibalistic fruit food chain!

Challenge 72: Then, Now: Schoolhouse Antics This was a series of illustrations I did right after graduating from SCAD, so I guess probably 2011-12ish. It actually had been in my portfolio until very recently, when I realized I totally needed to step up my children character game! Tried a lot harder this time to capture different personalities, emotions, etc. while still keeping that color palette that I loved! Caitlin
Challenge 72: Then, Now
For the next challenge I'm thinking something like "Then, Now" where we each take an old sketch, concept, or project and remake it with our new, professional, baller skills and styles! If possible, a piece that is reflective of a specific time of our lives - growing pains, etc - reflecting on that in a memoir sense to improve/ change/ or augment the piece. Annelise
Sakurai Ryou vs. the World
Wrote a Sakurai character piece based on BPS Challenge 72 (Comics). This was fun, I got to think of parallels between some of the manga I've read with KuroBasu! =) But I also got the chance to think a little about Sakurai as a character, and some of the beats that motivate or drive him.
Title: Sakurai Ryou vs. the World
Summary: Sakurai draws manga to make sense of the world around him. (Or: The three epic battles of three manga arcs.)
