      he falls silent pretty quickly after that .   what’s he supposed to do ?    just grab him ?     pin him to the wall and kiss the life out of him or something ?     𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 ...    𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬 𝗔𝗥𝗘 ?     this uncomfortable warmth starts to creep up his spine ,   feeling like it’s clutching him by the back of the neck .    it makes his face warm ,   too ,    and he knows he must be blushing because he knows he always has done .

        he takes a breath ,    steadying ,    as he looks over the other man .    decides he doesn’t like being put on the spot like that .     𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 ,   𝗜𝗧'𝗦 𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 .    maybe daniel is just trying to get one over on him like he always does .    so even though he’s kind of thrown off by the other’s dare ,   he bites back .    ❛   do it yourself .   ❜

SPARRING   IS   MORE   FUN   THAN   FIGHTING.   less   bruises,   less   punches.   it’s   just   a   game   at   this   point,   to   see   who   gets   to   be   on   top.   who   gets   to   call   himself   the   fake   champion   of   a   friendly   spar.   it’s   sweaty   and   bodies   pressing   together   and   hitting   and   it’s   like   a   familiar   dance   with   daniel.      and   maybe   he   is   a   bit   distracted   today   (   mind   you,   he   thinks   daniel   is   doing   it   on   purpose,   the   leggins   and   the   sleeveless   shirts   ).   but   he   ends   up   being   sweaped   to   the   ground,   his   back   hitting   the   mat,   a   weight   on   his   frame   and   the   grinning   face   of   daniel   larusso   looking   down   at   him,   hands   on   his   chest   and   legs   pinning   him   in   place.

   johnny   breathes   heavy   after   that.   “damn,   larusso.   who   knew   you   got   it   in   you.”   he   could   turn   them   over   with   ease.   resting   on   his   elbows,   johnny   breathes   out,   feeling   sweat   on   his   forehead.   “maybe   you   are   not   such   a   primadonna.   and   you   weight   more   than   you   look,   you   twig.”   it’s   a   nice   weight,   he   thinks   to   himself,   blue   eyes   shifting   over   to   look   back   at   daniel   over   him.   he   suddenly   feels   the   air   shift   around   him   and   he   isn’t   sure   why.

OK   SO   MAYBE   SHE   IS   SUGGESTING   AGAIN   HE   WORE   HIS   GI.   really,   can’t   blame   a   girl   for   trying.   she   uses   the   excuse   of   how   it   might   bring   more   costumers   to   the   dealership   but   this   is   just   for   her   own   entertainment   and   eyes   only.   except,   daniel   is   smiling   at   her,   that   goofy   loopy   seductive   smile   that   she   knows   so   well   and   amanda   shakes   her   head.   

“oh   no,   mister.   last   time   you   smiled   like   that,   we   ended   up   nine   months   later   with   a   baby.”   amanda   knows   herself.   and   knows   him.   and   next   thing   she   knows,   they   might   hit   the   mat   again   for   a   little   karate   and   they   know   how   that   ended   up.   “you   are   lucky   you   look   good   on   your   gi.”   too   good   for   her   liking.   making   all   the   wine   moms   drop   to   their   knees.   but   she   is   the   one   with   the   ring   on   her   finger.it   makes   her   grin   as   well   though.   “stop   it.   don’t   tease.”

SHE   IS   PLAYING   DRESS   UP.   she   shows   him   with   pride   how   her   old   high   school   cheerleading   uniform   still   fits.   a   bit   too   tight   but   she   is   happy   it   fits   and   she   dances   and   goofs   around   for   the   entertainment   of   her   viewer   and   she   does   feel   eighteen   again   and   trying   to   make   daniel   feel   at   ease.   there   is   something   that   wasn’t   there   before,   the   years   of   experience   and   more   confidence,   in   either   of   them.   and   he   is   walking   closer   and   leaning   and   for   a   moment,   she   thinks   that   school   fantasy   might   become   true   and   she   can   fill   out   her   bingo   card.      except   he   doesn’t   kiss   her,   just   leans   over   to   whisper   in   her   ear.  

robin   ignores   the   jumping   of   her   heart   in   favor   to   listen   to   him,   head   lean   further   to   hear   better.   you   look   beautiful.   simple.   impactful.   damn   larusso.   “are   you   tryin’   to   seduce   me,   mr.   larusso?”   said   the   woman   in   the   cheerleading   uniform.   but   her   smile   is   wide,   and   hands   play   with   his   tie.   “do   i   look   as   good   as   i   did   back   then?”

MIND   YOU,   SHE   IS   NOT   THE   BEST   COOK.   she   made   due,   being   a   single   mother   and   all,   she   managed   to   come   up   with   foods   enough   for   robby   during   his   growing   pain   years.   but   now   she   wants   to   learn   more.   hence,   why   she   was   now   asking   daniel   to   help   her.   she   knows   he   cooks,   of   course   he   does   and   they   divided   the   tasks   and   she   is   taking   notes   and   noticing   how   at   ease   he   is   at   the   kitchen   that   she   wonders,   how   many   times   had   he   had   to   prepare   food   for   himself   while   growing   up.   but   instead   of   asking,   shannon   focuses   on   following   his   words. 

  “now,   don’t   judge   me,   alright?   I   never   knew   you   could   have   three   different   types   of   knives   to   cut   different   things.”   she   said,   cutting   on   the   vegetables   before   she   feels   a   pressure   on   her   side,   another   body   pressing   on   her   side   and   an   arm   passes   her   own   as   she   freezes.   head   turn   to   the   side   and   it’s   daniel,   and   her   eyes   linger   on   his   own   for   the   longest   of   times.   “hey.”   she   calls   instead,   a   smile   briefly   on   her   lips,   noticing   the   closeness.   it’s   something   she   had   missed.   another   body   close   to   her   own   and   he   smells   nice.   of   cologne   and   homemade   meals   and   it’s   so   charming   that   she   doesn’t   dare   move   away.   “how   am   i   doing,   sensei?”

IT’S   THE   SAFETY   OF   A   FATHER’S   ARMS.   she   feels   barely   put   together   when   he   wraps   arms   around   her   with   the   same   confidence   he   always   does,   nevermind   her   age,   she   feels   small   and   fond   in   her   father’s   arms.   head   burried   in   his   shirt   as   she   lets   some   tears   escape   her   own   eyes   at   last   as   he   speaks   of   how   proud   he   is   and   yet,   sam   can’t   help   but   to   feel   like   a   failure.   “it’s   because   of   me   you   are   not   going   to   teach   anymore.   neither   is   johnny.   your   dreams.   gone.”   she   has   never   seen   her   father   so   alive   since   mr.   miyagi   has   passed   away.   and   now,   that   spark   will   be   gone   again.   she   can’t   help   but   to   let   out   a   sob.   “I   failed   you,   dad.”

    johnny doesn’t expect to see daniel on the other side of the door when he opens it .    to be honest ,   he doesn’t normally get anyone calling on him .    if it isn’t miguel ,    or robby ,    he just expects it to be some kind of salesman .                 well ,   in a way ,   it still is some kind of salesman .      his thumb brushes over the neck of the bottle of coors he’s holding in his free hand ,    hanging down by the side of his leg .    𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗧𝗦 𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗔𝗧 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗘𝗟 .   there’s this faint frown on his expression ,   looking like disbelief .    he’s a little tipsy ,   and his apartment is a mess of cans and wrappers and it smells faintly of weed .

      ❛   okay ,   well ,   you’ve seen .   ❜    johnny says passively .    he waves that occupied hand vaguely inward at the apartment -- not to invite daniel in ,   or anything ,   just to show him that he’s home and he’s fine .   then he just starts to close the door .      ❛   night ,   larusso .     ❜

laura  knew  that  her  brother  was  terrified  to  even  approach  mr.  larusso.  about  anything,  really.  and  she  knew  that  there  was  a  chance  it  could  make  it  worse,  but  maybe  she  could  try  and  make  it  better.  she  had  to  at  try  at  the  very  least.  things  had  just  gotten  so  out  of  control  the  months  and  weeks  leading  up  to  the  tournament  that  laura  really  couldn't  make  heads  nor  tails  of  it.  everyone  was  hurting  and  silver  was  digging  is  claws  into  her  AND  her  brother  (  even  though  she  had  since  left  cobra  kai  after  the  tournament  and  after  breaking  her  hand  thanks  to  silver  himself  ).  it  was  a  situation  she  just  no  longer  wanted  to  be  in  and  she  was  working  hard  to  get  her  brother  to  realize  that  cobra  kai  was  doing  him  no  favors  and  she  just...  well,  felt  bad.

showing  up  at  miyagi  do  was  something  she  knew  probably  wouldn't  go  well  if  there  were  students  there,  but  she  had  been  told  it  was  just  mr.  larusso  so  it  would  give  her  a  chance  to  talk  to  him  without  being  bulled  by  the  others.  once  cobra  kai,  always  cobra  kai  it  seemed.  but  she  made  her  way  up  the  drive  and  soon  poked  her  head  in  the  door.  "mr.  larusso?  are  you  here?  i  wanted  to  talk  to  you  if  that's  okay?"  her  pulse  was  in  her  throat  and  never  did  she  think  she  would  be  terrified  to  speak  with  someone  she  admired,  but  there  she  was.
